Dark amber pour at the Surdyk’s in MSP Terminal 2 waiting for my flight. Very little head, but it was also served in a cold glass, which is bad bad bad. Bad. Nice biscuit nose with a big hoppy nose (pine and floral). Hoppy, some bitterness and a strong malt taste with a dry bitter finish.

Nutty caramel, pine, floral hops. Light fruit and grains with hints of citrus. Felt a bit light in the body, and not enough carbonation to clean out the aftertaste.

On tap. Aroma has notes of toasted caramel malts and bittering hops. Deep hazy amber hue with a small off-white head that left little lace. Flavor is medium sweet and bitter. Palate is medium bodied and oily with an average carbonation. Overall a good brew.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a hazy orange to amber hue with a thin, quickly dissipating head. A light malty hop aroma with a hint of spice. Bitter taste of malt, caramel, and pine.

drpimento (3672) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 8, 2013
Kind of an odd, yet not bad brew. Poured at a good temperature with a huge, foamy, frothy, cream-colored head that slowly settled and decent lacing. Color is a clear medium amber with some bubble trails. Aroma is fresh beer, caramel malt, and mild hop. Flavor is like nose, hop flavor comes out a little more. There’s more hop bitterness than flavor. Body/carbonation are perfect. Finish is like flavor, on the short side, drinkable, yet rather forgettable.

philvil (176) - Massachusetts, USA - NOV 14, 2013
Good texture but syrupy sweetness drowns out the hop flavors. Some spiciness like a holiday seasonal. Doesn’t have the crispness I’m looking for in an APA

I think this is a really nice APA. Aromas of soapy hops and caramel. Flavors are bitter and tangy citrus hops with a nice malty backbone. Very nice.

Pours clear golden copper with of white head. The aroma is earthy citrus hops and toasted grains. The flavor is somewhat muted toasted grain with a rich very dry earthy pine floral hop thing that is peculiar. Decent brew but not quite all there.

Bottle from Woodmans in Waukesha. Pours an unclear amber color with a faint white head. Aroma has pine and caramel, and more toasty, caramelly malt. Taste is of sweet caramel, faint pine and a lot of resin. Medium bodied and fairly thick for a pale. Shrug? Not the type of take on the style that is enjoyable.
