Bottle - Pours clear light amber with a foamy off-white head. Nose is lightly sweet toasted malt, lots of pine, herbal hops, and a bit of spicy grassiness. Taste is more dry toasted bread malt, herbal and pine hops, and a spicy, bitter, drying note on the finish. Some caramel and butterscotch notes, too. Smooth and creamy. This was a little dry for my tastes initially, but it grew on me as I worked my way through the bottle. Pretty good stuff. DoublEE (781) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Sheep Head is a nice IPA. The hop profile is delightful and the malt balance is prominent, but not overpowering. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - AUG 3, 2013
12 oz. bottle that I picked up in Wisconsin on my way out to Yellowstone. Pours a clear amber with a think tan head that dissipates by the second sip and leaves little lace. Pleasant aroma of sweet malt and overripe orange. The flavir begins with sweet malt and is followed by a combination of overripe orange and bitter orange pith. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Dries out just a bit towards the end as well. Medium bodied. ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - JUL 6, 2013
Nice dark orange pour with a white head. Aroma is catty hops and a bit of resin. Flavor is sharply bitter, but not unpleasant. Good malt bill. Resinous and pungent. Pretty decent, but I have no idea why this is 7.7% gonzosauce (196) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 2, 2013
Heathery herbal nose leading into a very tinny flavor. Palate is crisp but not intriguing. Hops are noticeable throughout, but hardly dominant.

I’m sure this beer is past its prime, but I have no mercy in rating if there’s no best-by date on the bottle. Wish more brewers would do this. joergen (29353) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2013
Pours a dirty orange with no head and not much lacing. Aroma is caramel and sour yeast. Taste is a yeast bomb, then some funky malt, then a moderately bitter finish that dries out. From the other reviews, this was likely a bad batch or old bottle. Just noticed it’s a winter seasonal, so it’s probably at least 8-9 months old. Hops are a mere afterthought, making me think something’s not right here... I’ll finish the bottle, but only because the other Brau Brothers bottle I just opened was spoiled as well and I’m not pouring two bottles down the drain in a single night. Get it together, people.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild peachy and light grapefruity. Mild citric and light peachy. Bitter and herbal. Citrusy and peachy dry finish. cubs (10721) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Bottle @ home, courtesy of hasselHOFF. Thanks Kyle! Pours quite hazy reddish orange appearance with no head. Caramel, dark bread, somewhat citrusy, a bit spicy aroma. Goopy, sweet caramel malty, orange candy, boozy flavor. Honestly, makes me gag. Not good.
