At St Paul Summer Beer Fest 2009. Poured hazy yellow with a nice white head, smelled of faint hops and had a good hop profile in the taste. Nothing crazy, but a solid beer. OD40oz (774) - Box Elder, South Dakota, USA - AUG 9, 2009
Pours a copper color with a frothy white head. Nice pale ale hoppy taste and finish. Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 5, 2009
Bottled. Poured milky, yet healthy golden with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma was fragrant and very enjoyable with earthy and light citrus hoppage over thick biscuits and caramel.. the malts actually stole the show, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. The flavor had the same biscuit and caramel malts at the core, surrounded by a bit different bitter hop array than the nose (white pepper, resiny pine, and earth present here).. finished with thicker sweetness and sufficient residual bitterness. Medium-bodied with fluffy carboation on the palate.. sweeter than it was bitter, but balance was there.. a bit slick at times, which impeded the flow slightly. This was by far the best brew I’ve tried from these guys. milewide (2315) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 17, 2011
Beautiful red amber color with medium head. Fine combination of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Good brew, but no different than many ales. wmubronco1992 (709) - Coldwater, Michigan, USA - MAY 31, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear amber. Small white head. Caramel aroma. Sweet caramel flavor with some spice and then a bit of bitterness. Nice balance between the sweet and bitter. Even though this beer isn’t heavy it is full bodied. Tons of flavor. Not as hoppy as the description states, but it suprisingly good even though I’m not a huge APA fan. Picked it up as a single at my local liquor store. Very Very nice, will look forward to having again.

My first beer from this brewer and first from Minnesota. This beer speaks well for the brewer and the Gopher State. I like some hops and malt in a pale ale and it did not disappoint. Bold, malty, hoppy, on the palate holds up on the aftertaste, too. I will look for this again. nuplastikk (6451) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 1, 2012
12oz bottle. I wouldn’t have associated sheep with an APA, more of a Bock or Scottish Ale thing..whatever....this doesn’t really fit in a style, something like an APA and an American Strong Ale combined. Orange-copper filtered body, thin off-white head. Mild and respectable soapy pine hop aroma. A pretty balanced creature, with big, yet mellow malt tones which plant the hops firmly in the backseat. Some fruity notes, could be amber malt, but maybe just the yeast. Pretty enjoyable beer. TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - OCT 17, 2012
Bottle. Pours a hazy copper with foamy head. Some mild hop aroma. Flavor is hops but well balanced. Abv is well hidden. Nice APA kjohns (131) - North Dakota, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Clear amber pour with a very small off-white head. Piney hop aroma with some very light licorice notes. Taste is a blend of citrus hops and sweet malt with a faint smoky taste. Hides the ABV quite well. Pretty decent APA. joergen (29180) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2013
