My first beer from this brewer and first from Minnesota. This beer speaks well for the brewer and the Gopher State. I like some hops and malt in a pale ale and it did not disappoint. Bold, malty, hoppy, on the palate holds up on the aftertaste, too. I will look for this again. nuplastikk (6224) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 1, 2012
12oz bottle. I wouldn’t have associated sheep with an APA, more of a Bock or Scottish Ale thing..whatever....this doesn’t really fit in a style, something like an APA and an American Strong Ale combined. Orange-copper filtered body, thin off-white head. Mild and respectable soapy pine hop aroma. A pretty balanced creature, with big, yet mellow malt tones which plant the hops firmly in the backseat. Some fruity notes, could be amber malt, but maybe just the yeast. Pretty enjoyable beer. TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - OCT 17, 2012
Bottle. Pours a hazy copper with foamy head. Some mild hop aroma. Flavor is hops but well balanced. Abv is well hidden. Nice APA kjohns (131) - North Dakota, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Clear amber pour with a very small off-white head. Piney hop aroma with some very light licorice notes. Taste is a blend of citrus hops and sweet malt with a faint smoky taste. Hides the ABV quite well. Pretty decent APA. joergen (27983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2013

On tap at the brewery. Great beer; poured copper brown, clear with white head. Aroma is malty, fruit and hops highlights. Taste is sweet, some roast, some caramel notes and some alcohol. Very good beer and one of my favorites from these guys. Easy to drink and very enjoyable. IlanMan (1015) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 2, 2009
On cask for Firkin Fest at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul 09. Had a medium pour with a good malt character accompanied with medium hops. It was a bit big to be a pale ale malt-wise but I guess the hops didn’t kick it into IPA mode. Pretty good brew overall. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 28, 2009
In the bottle from HyVee CB. Pours an orange amber with an off-white medium head. The aroma is the best part of this beer- lots of chocolate oranges as though this is going to be an Impy. But wait, the taste does not back up this tempting thick scent. A fairly good APA with a nice sweet malt thickness, but it is not over the top in nature. I like it and hope to try it on tap. Bottle pours copper gold with small head and some residual sheets. The aroma is quite fruity, almost surprisingly fruity, cookies, and some floral stuff. The flavor is nicely bitter, malty, fruity, and quite decent actually with a rather substantial palate. I’m pleased. vikingguy (1101) - Carver, Minnesota, USA - NOV 6, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2014 Pours a hazy golden-orange color with medium foamy white head. Strong earthy, piney hops aroma. Hops definitely dominate the flavor but it’s balanced nicely with some sweet and citrusy maltiness. Notes of orange, grapefruit, piney cascade hops, grassy floral hops, and some sweet cereal malts. Long hoppy finish. This is better than expected; much more complex and a fuller mouthfeel. Very good ale from Brau Bros.
