50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is butterish and caramelish. Solid butterish, slight metallic and dark breadish flavoured. Vague cardboardish flat malt note. Ends dry and light bitter mixed with a roasted breadish malt note.

A deep red beer with a dense brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as hints of butter. The flavor has strong notes of butter, but nicer notes of caramel, and hints of smoke, leading to a dry hoppy end. Take away the butter and it’d be good.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a beautiful, dark amber with a creamy, white head. Rather unusual sweetish caramel nose with a sheryish note. Medium body with roasted accents and some caramel. Soft finish with only discreet hops. Lovely. 190206

500ml Flasche.

Koelschtrinker (21318) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 1, 2011
Säuerlich-malziger, sehr weicher Antrunk. 9/9/9/9/9/9

Dark golden brown. Breadcrusty chocolate nose. Very complex toasty dark malts. The toasty palate is quite dry, but not quite as unique as the aroma suggests. Still, this is a quality dark lager.
