Bottle. Black colour, brown head. Alcoholic, wheaty aroma. Alcoholic notes of bread, malt. Spicy finish of long duration. Outstanding Weizenbock! jonas (7571) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAR 20, 2009
Bottle, vielen vielen dank Günther! Flambeed banana aroma, berry notes. Cloudy red-brown, huge golden-brown head, lively carbonation - looks brilliant in my Aventinus glass. Rich caramel entry, port, roasted bananas, pears and berry jam. Medium body, light sparkly on the tongue, mellow mouthfeel. Very very nice - finally a weizenbock in the same class as the favourite from Schneider. Ernest (7694) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Head is initially large, frothy/creamy, light brown, fully lasting.
Body is dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain/nuts, caramel, chocolate), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana, clove, blackberry, brown sugar.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Another wonderful beer from Simon...very nice variety in the nose, nicely balanced, velvety, lasting head, etc. Pretty difficult not to like. TAR (2761) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - AUG 19, 2014
Bottle consumed in Dec. 2013, best by Sept. 2014: Deep prune with ruby glints. Thick, creamy, dirty-white head. Expressively phenolic nose boasts ripe plum, vanilla, black licorice, banana bread, dessert apples, bubblegum, chef-grade pastry cream, spice cookies, sassafras, fruitcake, fresh tobacco and a hint of melanoidins and caramelized sugar. Fluffy mouthfeel. Explosively phenolic and plasticlike, initially, with fiery clove notes ensuing. Ripe plum vibrancy easily wards off the faint red apple dullness which slowly creeps in. Plastery yeast scratches at the palate alongside a touch of toasty and cottony dark maltiness which stops just shy of roast levels. Layer after layer of intricate nuttiness unravels amid an earthy fallen-leaf dryness and heftier banana cream pie lusciousness. Puttylike yeast leaves its mark throughout as a chocolate pudding-like richness buttresses the sturdy wheat core, which erupts with lustrous succulence and refined body-boosting starches. Minerals brilliantly scratch at the wheat-driven starches while dabs of coconut and vanilla enrich the characterful yeast. Finishes brightly banana breadlike, as sweet plum flesh adorns the bouncy caramelized malt and starchy, tongue-hugging wheaty succulence. A singular and nuanced, yet deeply complex rendition, that doesn’t suffer from sugar overload or alcoholic excess. Has an intoxicating aroma that you just can’t stop smelling, like a bakery filled with fresh goods. Love this brewery! 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 12, 2013

50 cl bottle at Franky, Nbg. App:Dark brown hazy color.Medium and stable off-white head.Aroma: Banana, yeast.Taste: Deep fruitiness, roast notes, banana, dark chocolate and toffee. Palate: Full body with fizzy carbo. Dry and acidic finish Ovv: It’s not that common to come across a Dunkler Weizenbock and rarer to enjoy anything with wheat. This one was really good. Couldn’t refrain to finish it in a couple of minutes. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - DEC 5, 2009
Big thanks to MoritzF for this one! The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Almost black, creamy head. Starts strong, roasty-malty, quite yeasty from the beginning, but not too dry. Very light notes of cinnamon. Finish still strong, but well balanced. Goes down soft and a bit prickly. Very good!
