Pours dark mahogany color with a small head. Aroma has wheat and ripe fruits, some yeast, faint cocoa and sourish berries. Flavor is moderately sourish fruity and ripe, some wheat and yeast notes, mild spices and earth, subtle caramel sweetness. Nice.

Grilled banana aroma. Rich palate, not heavy, but full. Taste also has grilled banana. Nice dry bitter hops in the finish. No sign of the alcohol. Nice level of roast. Only the banana says wheat here, but that’s fine.
0.5 l bottle from ’P&M Getränke’, best before September 2017. Hazy, very dark reddish brown with a large, foamy, stable, beige head. Sweetish, moderately yeasty-spicy and a little roasty aroma of overripe banana, chocolate, clove and nuts. Sweetish, rather roasty and moderately yeasty-spicy taste of dark chocolate, overripe banana, toasted nuts and a touch of dark ripe fruits, followed by a medium long, quite roasty-bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and rather effervescent mouthfeel, above average carbonation. Saturating, rather roast-accented Weizenbock, quite enjoyable. I’m glad that I got the opportunity to re-reate this, it’s definitely worth it! Could have some aging potential by the way. Score is for the new rating only.

Old rating: 0.5 l bottle as a little present from my parents, best before September 2015. Very murky, dark reddish brown with a massive, creamy, stable, tan head. Some ugly flocs in the glass as well. Sourish aroma of rotten fruits, sour cherries and nuts with hints of banana. Sweetish-sourish taste of rotten fruits, sour cherries, banana, nuts and cocoa. Short, sourish finish. Medium to full body, fizzy and creamy texture, very lively carbonation. Very weird brew. I don’t believe that the sourness in this beer is intended and/or appropriate in a weizenbock. This batch maybe infected. Still quite good if you rate it hedonistically and don’t mind the style. 50 cl bottle at Franky, Nbg. App:Dark brown hazy color.Medium and stable off-white head.Aroma: Banana, yeast.Taste: Deep fruitiness, roast notes, banana,dark chocolate and toffee. Palate: Full body with fizzy carbo. Dry and acidic finish Ovv: It’s not that common to come across a Dunkler Weizenbock and rarer to enjoy anything with wheat. This one was really good. Dark brown with medium brown head. Aroma is caramel, dark chocolate, some fruity hoppy note, bready malt. Very finetuned. Taste is caramel sweetness, som phenolic sweetness as well, a little bitterness of dark chocolate and carbonation nduced sourness.
