Barrel @ Sandkerwa. Ceramic mug. Thick head. Nice caramelly aroma - the thick head actually covers up some of the nose. Clean, crisp, hoppy beer with only a hint of that caramel. Very dry, hoppy, uberfranken take on the festbier concept. Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 4, 2009
Draft @ Sandkerwa. Beige head is thick, very thick, can feel it in my mouth. the color is copper. Aroma is mild, bready with toffee. The palate is thick, smooth. Very good, dry Franconian style festbier, a far cry from the sweeter Munchen ones. Soft gentle flavors with very dry hoppy finish that has lots of wood and grain husks. Total Franconia. ekstedt (6976) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 2, 2013
Bottle (50 cl) from bierzwerg.de. Clear golden, medium white head. Bready and grainy malt aroma, grassy and herbal hops. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry with medium bitterness. Clean and fresh. Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 4, 2011
Gutes Bier!

On tap (in the brewry garden): Deep golden coloured, lacing off-white fluffy head, quite stable; sweet malty, but also distictive hoppy aroma; starting sweetish, later distinctive bitter taste, medium to full bodied;drier than the Märzen. Well done, well rounded.........

(bottle, from the brewery) Clear golden colour with a big foamy and slowly lacing white head. Slightly dusty and sweet malty aroma with dense notes of peppery spice and herbal hops. Sweet flavour, medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Soft malty taste, well-bound aromatic hops; medium-dry and lasting finish with a moderate bitterness. This one hasn´t an overpowering distinctive taste, but it is very elegant and balanced: a silent hero. Quack-Duck (9533) - Down South, GERMANY - DEC 22, 2009
bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear, deep golden colour, large white head. Malty-herbal nose. Full-bodied, malty base with lots of herbs and more herbal aromatic hops, shy hints of vanilla and fir tree, also dark honey. Very slightly fruity. Lingering finish. jfb (6624) - GERMANY - DEC 20, 2011
(bottle) pours a clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of lightly roasted pale malts, light vanilla, grain and herbal hops. flavour is mostly the same, with notes of bread dough, a dominant herbal-hoppiness and a light bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation. kappldav123 (6133) - GERMANY - JAN 10, 2012
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Starts strong, spicy-malty, a bit wheaty. Modest sourish background. Finish still strong, modest dry, well balanced. Quite drinkable. Nice! downender (8882) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2014
Bottle from a REWE in Bamberg. Golden, with no head or carbonation. Rich aroma, with some honeyed sweetness, a hint of herb and some booziness. Flavour had crisp malts, stone fruits and a lingering, bitter, finish. A good beer.
