COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hopfen: Cascade, Magnum Malz: Weizen-, Wiener, Karamellmalz Indra is a new beer style that fuses hoppy, aromatic character of American IPAs and the distinctive banana and clove Aroma of German wheat beers. The hop of choice was the American Cascade. Virtually no other hop is able to produce such a perfect contrast and balance with the intense wheat flavor.

[on tap] This is an ugly beer. It is a very murky tan color with almost no head. The aroma is much better. Smells like a refreshing wheat beer with a pleasing hoppiness (but not too much) and just a hint of banana. Upon tasting I begin to wonder why this beer was made. It starts off as a refreshing wheat beer but distracts with an overly astringent hop profile. Body is decent but that astringent hoppiness lingers unpleasantly.

DAA; Drunk at Majavatn, take away from Bad Segeberg. Bottle 355 ml. Pours large, hazy amber with a creamy, lasting and lacing off-white head. Nose is heavy, fruit, peach, citrus and light pepper. Taste is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with lasting, warming, blood orange finish. Body is medium, texture is oily to sticky, carbonation is soft.

16-06-2017; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in Bremerhaven, Germany). The beer looks very nice. I like it. The color of the beer is a nice peach coloured orange. The beer has a lovely silky appearance, due tot he cloudiness. On top of the beer a nice soft layer of white foam is formed, with a tiny orange touch. It is not 100% white. The smell of the beer is nice. It is indeed a blend between German Weizener with IPA. I smell some nice sweet and delicate malts, together with lovely citrus hops. The hops give aromas of citrus fruits, with a focus on lime and also zest. This pairs lovely with the banana and slightly coriander and spicy yeast aromas of the wheat ale. There also is a doughy touch. Quite nice. The taste is a bit less. The malts aren’t really clear. The hops are a bit more bitter and also have a resinous touch. The citrus is also there, but the resinous aspects cover the fruity touches a bit. There are some yeast flavours, mainly spicy with touches of clove. It is nice, but the smell was nice. The aromas were more in balance than the flavours are. The palate of the beer is nice. Nice medium body, slightly sticky and high carbonation. The finish is rather short. There are some malty flavours and some nice hoppy fruits there. But, it could have been a bit longer. All in all, not a bad beer, actually quite nice and a nice blend between to beer styles. I like it.

[Draught at beerbistro] Pours a hazy orange with an average size semi-lasting frothy white head. Aroma of wheat, bready malt, caramel and fruit. Flavour is bready and fruity along with some light hops. Average bodied. Good, not great.

Pours dirty amber from the bottle. An off-white, frothy finger thick head forms, lingering in reduced form for much of the duration. Aroma is banana with a light tropical fruit tinge. Or perhaps just citrus. Overall the aroma is restrained and hard to accurately place. This may be a cross between a Weizen and an IPA, but the bitter citric hop notes of the latter style win the taste battle, pushing the sweet banana notes into the background. The bitterness strengthens going into the finish, turns a bit raw, and ends with a light acidity. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, not bad but there’s nothing that stands out and makes me what to drink another of these. Would like to have seen a richer, more flavorful bittersweet balance.

Bottle 33cl, a cloudy copper orange beer with huge head and good lacework. Nose is on green vegetables, yeast and wheat. Aroma is malty, lot of banana, fortunately less green vegetable notes than the nose, some caramel, wheat, even chocolate hints, some creamy body, peppery hops. Sweet and quite unusual wheat ale, pleasant.
