Maker: BrauKunstKeller, Michelstadt, Germany ***
Beer: Amarsi Strong IPA (bottled, unfiltered, 330ml) ***
Style: India Pale Ale (IPA) ***
ALC.VOL.: 7.1% ***
"Fruity and fresh IPA with Amarillo and Simcoe hops." [brewery note, my translation] ***
Colour: Deep hazy amber, small off-white head. ***
Nose: Strong, slightly sweetish grapefruit with herbs, hint of pinewood. ***
Texture: Medium body, slightly oily, medium carbonation. ***
Taste: Some sweetish grapefruit and alcohol at first, with bitter herbs and pinewood kicking in soon. Medicinal notes. Towards the middle the bitterness increases significantly; now fresh and dry, appealingly resinous. More resin and hoppy bitterness in the finale, with a grapefruit note that is carried over into the aftertaste. Lasting hoppy bitterness, with expressive resin. ***
Impressions: Excellent stronger IPA (though not quite the "Imperial" variety), moves ever closer to the hard-edged, resinous APA style. Good fruitiness and herbal notes add to the appeal of this multi level IPA. mateuszk (2670) - Poznań, POLAND - JUN 11, 2015
Draught. Hazy dark orange. Aroma of sweet tropical fruits, caramel, malt. Flavours similar, the beer is sweet but has good bitter finish. Medium bodied, quite smooth. Could be a bit more dry. omhper (25113) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUN 11, 2015
Bottled, from Systembolaget. Cloudy orange colour, rich head. Passionfruit, cat pee and grapefruit up front. Sweet with medium-full body and rounded, syrupy mouthfeel. Caramel and sugar, some wet paper - lots of passionfruit and grapefruit. Mid bitter finish. Nice hops, sloppy malt. gyllenbock (9161) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 11, 2015

Amber with a creamy head. Aroma and taste of hops, apricot, some pineapple and light malt. The mouthfeel was medium as was the bitterness. A descent IPA from Germany.

The beer pours slightly hazy, deep amber, dark orange with a one finger high head.
Nose: Orange, dried fruit, strawberries, apricot honey and vanilla. Fruity!
Taste: Apricot, mango, citus and caramel malt.
Body: Medium body and soft carbonation. Medium bitterness.
I really like this German IPA! It’s a grown up IPA with a attitude.
Lite obalanserad smak i mitt tycke.
