Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2009
Bottled at PBF. Black color with small creamy head. Thick sweet, roasty and oaky aroma with some bourbon notes also. Sweet, roasty, coffeish and oaky flavor with dark chocolate and licorice. Full bodied. Smooth oily palate with low carbonation. Nice smooth imperial stout. The bourbon barrel balances and adds complexity which makes this far superior to the ordinary version. fonefan (48790) - VestJylland, DENMARK - AUG 13, 2009
Draught @ Ølfestival Valby - CBF09, Copenhagen, Denmark.caesar (7103) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - AUG 5, 2009
Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, smoke, bourbon notes. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival 09. Best aroma of the three, whisky, oak chips, vanilla. Also vanilla in taste. More rounded than the other ones. Nuffield (4169) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - AUG 4, 2009
Smoke, roasted, and hints of fruit, but out of balance with a buttery note that comes from the bourbon. Not that enjoyable, to my taste. At RBSG 2009. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2009
Bottle at the RBESG09 Grand tasting, sheffield. Alround rating: I couldnt drink this. Massive alcohol burn, huge burnt malt character, bittersweet molasses. Tar.

Growler @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2009. Almost balck and opague. Just notes of smoke and roast in the aroma. Vinous flavor with oak and notes of smoke. Grapes and a hint of tartness next to the roast in the finish. Borresteijn (6970) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUL 23, 2009
RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting at the Harlequin. Black colour, brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malts, vanilla, lots of alcohol sweetness. Flavour is even sweeter, vanilla, roasted malts, but a bit overpowered by the bourbon booze. Out of balance, but still very tasty. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JUL 19, 2009

2009-05-26, draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 6-4-7-3-13=33omhper (24980) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUL 8, 2009
Black color; medium head. The aroma is a bit woody. Maybe smoother than the other two versions, it has also less roasted malt character, and for once I don’t think this is a good thing; in the final there is an extremly light sourness that is out of place.
2009-05-16, draught at Københavnske Øldage 2009, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Black color, small creamy head. Like the other versions, it has a good chocolate flavor, this one with more roasted malt, some liquorice, maybe too young, and not the expected vanilla; the aroma is a bit cheesy.
Bottled at PBF. Black, small beige head. Rich licorice aroma. Full bodied with plenty of alcohol, tar and salty licorice. A lot of power, but much nuances. The bourbon does not a whole lot. Though this is far from bad I definitely prefer Braunsteins lager beers like their pilsener to their imperial stouts.
