Bottled (thanks KimJohansen!). Quite muh black colour with small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, some bourbon and mild notes of vanilla. Also roasted malts and mild yeast. Flavour is oak, some alcohol, nice vanilla as well as smoke and pleasant toasted notes. A very pleasant notes. omhper (25156) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUL 8, 2009
Bottled at PBF. Black, small beige head. Rich licorice aroma. Full bodied with plenty of alcohol, tar and salty licorice. A lot of power, but much nuances. The bourbon does not a whole lot. Though this is far from bad I definitely prefer Braunsteins lager beers like their pilsener to their imperial stouts. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 24, 2009
On tap. Pours completely pitch black with a small light brown head. Sweetish aroma of hard roasted malt, a little licorice and a very vague whiff of bourbon. Medium-bodied, hard roasted malt and licorice and in the flavour the bourbon notes really come out. Yummy. Lightly sweet vanilla and a dry, malt bitter finish. 150509 cgarvieuk (24536) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 24, 2009

2009-05-26, draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 6-4-7-3-13=33
Black color; medium head. The aroma is a bit woody. Maybe smoother than the other two versions, it has also less roasted malt character, and for once I don’t think this is a good thing; in the final there is an extremly light sourness that is out of place.
2009-05-16, draught at Københavnske Øldage 2009, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Black color, small creamy head. Like the other versions, it has a good chocolate flavor, this one with more roasted malt, some liquorice, maybe too young, and not the expected vanilla; the aroma is a bit cheesy.
