On tap. Pours completely opaque black with a small and creamy beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts and some distinct peaty smoke. Surprisingly only medium-bodied, hard roasted malts and licorice, again with distinct peaty smoke. Some malt bitterness in the finish. Very well crafted. 150509
Grovlam (4252) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 24, 2009
Draught. [Beer festival 2009] Average brown head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma was quite complex with notes of smoked timber and smoked salami, roasted malt, liquorish, dark chocolate, mild coffee, vinous and somewhat dried fruity notes in there as well. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and mild alcoholic and thick texture. Heavy sweet and bitter flavor in balance. Lingering smoked salami and roasted malty finish. Lovely René! Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with powerful notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol and lots of roasted malt, leading to a dry and roasted finish. stouby (4714) - Holbæk, DENMARK - MAY 22, 2009

Draught at KBH Festival, 2009. Pitch black with a creamy brown head and lacings. Nose is heavy bitter roast with a vague hint of smoke and lots of coffee and chocolate. Balanced, smooth, sticky and just nice and well made. Braunstein really came forward with this serie of imp. stouts.
