2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A bit hollow. Slight metallic taste. Looks good in a glass, and starts off an evening on the right foot.
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2017 Pours a murky brown coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smells of dark fruit with a hint of caramel malt. Taste is roasted, slightly caramelly malt with dark fruit, fig, plum and a hint of smokyness and a hoppy grassyness and slight bitterness. Not your typical Alt, but quite nice in its own way. drmet (1053) - GERMANY - DEC 12, 2017

This is certainly not a typical Düsseldorf-style Alt with it's smoky, tart notes, but it combines really well.
Sort of an Altbier with a hint of Oud Bruin.
This was really good. Zlotta (4158) - Hagen, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2017
0.33 l bottle from 'CraftBeer-Dealer.com'. Slightly hazy, dark brownish amber with a massive, dense, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly grassy and - what a surprise - a little sourish-funky aroma of caramel, red fruits and hints of silage. Moderately sweet, malty and a little roasty taste of caramel, nuts and a touch of raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly slightly grassy-dry and a bit roasty finish with traces of an infection. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Typical Braustelle beer, don't know how old this bottle is but a slight infection is detectable already. Other than that it's a decent Alt. joe19612 (3138) - camberley, Surrey, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2016
GBBF 2016. Pours a clear brown colour with a tight beige head, aroma is soft sweet malt with some spices, the taste is medium bitterness with some fruit coming through with a bitter finish. Ritzn (1994) - GERMANY - OCT 10, 2016
Hazy brown with little beige head. Aroma is dark fruits, chocolate, nuts, a little coffee and some lycheee. Taste is a very two dimensional experience of deep bitter nutty malts (however not very bitter) and carbonation induced sourness. Little bubbled mouthfeel as it should be. The finish is slightly watery chocolate bitterness. Not bad.

Tap at braustelle brauhaus. Pours brown. Smells faintly of something sweet, maybe toffee, but not much else. Palate is a mess of fruity sweet, but also malty toffee notes. Even some smokey notes. Weird. The_Osprey (9723) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 26, 2016
August 2016 - At GBBF 2016, with the Scopeys, as ’Braustelle Ehrenfelder Alt’. Hazy brown, opaque, bubbly white head. Aroma is apple, rye bread, fruit loaf. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is resinous up front, twiggy, bready, light astringency. Decent enough alt. (3.4) Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2016
Cask gravity at GBBF 2016. It pours hazy mahogany brown with a decent off-white head. The aroma is soft, bitter - sweet, juicy, dried fruits, candy, toast, fruit cake, banana and light spice. The taste is crisp, bitter, pine, resin, dried fruits, wood, pine, resin, leather, dried fruits, juniper and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent Alt. ronaldtheriot (2021) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - MAY 31, 2016
Ehrenfelder Alt has a thin-to-medium, cream-colored head, with rather big, soapy bubbles, some lacing left on the glass, and a very dark brown, with red highlights appearance. Lots of caked, brown sediment, at the bottom will give this beer a milky look, it that junk is swished loose and poured in. The aroma is of rich, dark bread, raisin, prune, and a touch of both wood and smoke. Taste is of those elements, with possibly some rounding bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Ehrenfelder finishes on the crisp end of it. RJT javiercrasher (706) - Granada, SPAIN - MAY 25, 2016
