Pours golden orange with a good sized white head. The aroma has spicy / grassy hops, mild caramel malt, modest toast, hints of bread and cereal. It has a medium body with decent amount of gentle carbonation. The flavor starts with dry caramel malt, paper, earthy/spicy hops and crackers. The finish adds some minerals and a bit more hops. There is a lingering dryness. Pretty nice. hobsch (505) - Cologne, GERMANY - MAR 22, 2014
From tap at Braustelle Köln. Pours murky yellow with white head. Taste is quite bitter for a Kölsch with a relatively strong hop flavour. Very good and much better than the usual mainstream stuff in Köln. Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 22, 2014
Hazy blonde. Fruity kölsch aroma w quite a bit of yeastiness as well. Quite bitter for the style. Yeasty, dry with a lean pale malt character. Nice take on the style.

pours hazy almost cloudy yellow with a very nice white head, good retention and lacing. floral and lightly skunky notes, cereals-plenty - wheat, oat-like features and other pale tasty grains, lemony, herbal-grassy hops, also woodsy - touch of vanilla and spices, slightly cakey. moderate carbonation, light body - oily and quite thick, dry herbal-grassy-citrusy finish. aside unfortunate skunk volatiles, this is the tastiest kölsch i’ve had.. very nice and easy-going. Half-litre bottle as Freigeist Ottekolong. Pours yellow, white head. Nose is straw, huge orange, grass, no sulphur. Flavour is really crackery, that German crackery malt blends nicely with the grassy hops. Pils-like. Lovely!
