Draft at torst, clean refreshing, very good for the style. Well balanced, crisp viktorvee (510) - Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2013

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2013 Called Freigeist Ottekolong (for the American market?) Kolsch is not my favorite style, but this is a very nice brew. A big, ragged head on a dull gold pour. Neutral aroma. The flavor is light wheat with a good dash of pith-like bitterness and some orange blossom. kappldav123 (6124) - GERMANY - SEP 21, 2013
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice creamy head. Starts mild but not washy, fine fresh-fruity, malty-yeasty. Sweet background without being too mich. Notes of apricot. Well balanced finish, quite drinkable. Nice!

From a big bottle. Says Freigeist Ottekolong, go figger. $3 at vintage. Smell is just mildly beery yeast. Not filtered fer sure, unfiltered kolsch. Head is big, white and goes rocky, at least 4 inches. First taste is off the head, slightly bitter. Finally I get a taste off the liquid. The bitterness, which is moderate for a kolsch, seem to fade as the session continues. Lots of co2 makes this a fun beer on the palate. Yes, that sizzle makes this quite interesting as we slug. Sediment on the bottom of the bottle almost makes this look like a hefe. Mild like a hefe but it has no spices. Yes, gets better n a little more intriguing as we sit it out. That slight bitterness never really goes away, it hangs even for a few dull moments after the bottle’s gone. Yep, kinda fun overall. MichaelAwesome (6546) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - SEP 12, 2013
Ein Kölsch ist es nicht so ganz. Ein IPA auch irgendwie nicht. Eher wie ein Versuch, beides zu mischen. Trocken, leicht hopfig,, minimal blumig. Trinkbar, recht süffig, ganz nett. McTapps (6941) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - SEP 12, 2013
Actually I didn’t know what to expect, but probably not a unaromatic, dull-nosing beer. It begins with a small disappointment, but gets better when you get used to it and with temperature and air. Pours out in a light unclear golden colour with low head and medium body. Nose is very -like mentioned before- boring and unnice: Old hops, basement, barley. Taste gets better: (Still) dull hops, but also light citrus, flowers, grass, nuts, pine and melon. Easy to drink, but just not that quaffable, that nice or that refreshing / delicious. Wanted to like it but I just can’t. Patrickctenchi (6669) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - SEP 9, 2013
Bottle: (as Freigeist Ottekolong)
Slightly hazy, pale yellow gold, moderate white head.
Lemon and hay aroma.
Slightly tart lemon, pear taste.
Light, mild....slight hop/bread bitter.
Not bad. KyotoLefty (10539) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 7, 2013
Tap at the brewpub. Cloudy, glowing gold with a fine head. Very hoppy nose, citrus, light, dusty funk. Lightly sour flavor, hoppy, creamy, with a quite bitter finish. A very characterful kolsch.
