330 ml. bottle. HGazy orange colour, with a head that fades too soon, though it leaves some lace. Fruity smell with some spices, nothing special. Medium body, smooth palate. Taste of fruits, spices, and some honey. Very standard, I could have one some other time, but I’m not really longing for it.

Standard Belgian tripel. I like these beers, but most of them are very interchangeable.

Swaroga (2223) - Warszawa, POLAND - SEP 26, 2013
33cl bottle. Cloudy orange/brown with medium head. Nose : tart, banana, candied fruits. Spices. Sip : oily with moderate carbonation. Sweet fruit cake like flavor. Develops funky ester notes of cooked fruits and nail polisher. Ends with moderate bitter taste and leaves a burnyard like funkiness. Earthy on the tongue. After all it’s still quite balanced. Funky but interesting.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 11/V/13 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 15/I/14 (2013-460)

Clear orange beer, creamy off-white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: caramel, sugary, almonds, cookies, bit spicy, sherry notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very old, oxidized beer, honey, little bitter, hint of marzipan. Aftertaste: orange peel, very oxidized. Despite still months before the BB-date, the beer clearly didn’t survive it’s first 2 years in the bottle. (Given the huge oxidization, I suppose they took 3 years after bottling date as BB-date.)

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2012 Initial Rating Date: 1/18/2012 9:58:42 AM : Bottle 33cl, a cloudy yellow beer with medium head. Nose is very yeast like, much ester in the nose not balanced. Aroma is very alcoholic like, sweet, wheat notes, notes of diacetyl, yeast, over riped fruit, very unbalanced, very strange, butter like, oxidized.* Bottle @Nelson Strasbourg, nose with distinctive diacetyl notes. Aroma is on orange and peppery hops, again medium diacetyl touch, not really out standing.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Hazy, pale amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with orange peel, peaches, marmalade and some toast. Fruity, malty taste with notes of orange peel, apricots, caramel, marmalade and a spicy finish with a certain hop bite. More than medium body, with some sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.
