COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
During hot summer days on Braxton Drive, the garage was a haven. A place where we retreat from the hot sun, relax, and crack open a cold beer with neighbors, friends, and family. And few beer styles are more synonymous with Summer than the Hefeweizen. We’re proud to be pouring Haven Hefeweizen in the Garage on W 7th and at our favorite bars and restaurants.

Haven is a German wheat beer primarily showcasing yeast driven flavors and aromas, known predominately for its banana and clove characteristics. A medium bodied, full flavored and easy drinking wheat for the hot days of summer.

Can. Orange, banana, light clove, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large off-white head. Mildly sweet orange, creamy wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Okay body. Minimal Hefeweizen characteristics - more of a mediocre wheat ale.

Can from Discount. Pours a clear gold with a quick dissipating head. Thinnish and soapy head...hefe’s should have that foamy, rocky head that lasts forever. Great nose though with good banana and clove esters but it disappears in 30 seconds...bummer. Ultimately like most US takes on the style watery and thin with no flavor on the palate. Hefe you are not.

Pretty good. Has a distinct floral taste to it. Slight undertone of vanilla. Pretty good.

Draft from notes. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have wheat malts, banana, cloves, additional mild spices, pretty standard for the style with nothing standing out.

phaleslu (10668) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 24, 2016
Draft at Queen City Radio, served in a pint glass. Pours a hazy orange with a tiny white head that remains only as a very thin ring. Notes of banana, bubblegum, clove, sugary cereal, wheat, and dried apricots and golden raisins. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, sweet mouthfeel. Pretty straightforward take on the style.

Draught at Lexington Beerworks. Orange looking beer with banana and typical hefe traits. Nice.

on tap @ Braxton / Covington KY --- Clear medium amber color, off-white head that drops to the rim, stripes of lace. Taste is light malt and wheat that flows easily through medium carbonation to spice, particularly coriander, then maybe a little bittering. A light, friendly, balanced Hefeweizen.

Chudwick (3367) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - JUL 13, 2016
Draft at the incline for the wife’s birthday. Nose is farmy and bubblegum-y. Sip is grassier than I would expect. Hint of metal. Doesn’t exactly match my interpretation of the style. Decent.

Draft. Poured cloudy yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate banana, clove and fruit aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a solid sweet wheat finish of moderate duration. Good refreshing brew.

Dogbrick (13763) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 30, 2016
Sample at the OTR Beerfest during Cincinnati Beer Week. Slightly hazy orange color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of wheat, fruit and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal wheat, banana and cloves. The finish is wheaty with a banana and spice aftertaste. Decent overall.
