Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a deep dark amber almost brown color with a finger’s worth of a white clean head.
The aroma was nutty, with a light roast, chocolate and some earthiness.
The flavor leads with a fair crisp nutty to caramel and toffee blend. Moderate doughy/cracker-like taste leads into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Roastiness seems to be tamed by the malts smoothing things out.
Overall, nicely done brown ale that I would have again. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 16, 2009

20080729 Tap at brewpub. Light brown color, verging on amber. Little head. Light toast notes on aroma with some caramel maltiness. Clean and mildly sweet with cookie and pecan flavors. Quick astringent finish. Nice stuff for a bp brown.
