Deep, ridiculously dark amber, copper and brown coloured body with a ruby glow and a nice, thick, four centimetre tall tan microfoamed head - interesting and nice looking at the same time. Aroma of grass, hay, medicine, pungent yeast strains, bread, metal and some very light hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with only a touch of malt right behind with a light and very airy grass flavour with some sugars, a faint hint of funk and sourness and a minor medicinal flavour. Aftertaste shows yeastie funk, bread, grain, a touch of sour or funk and that’s about it - no depth, no complexity, no real character - just a yeastie beer with some effervescence and a faint sour note. Overall, a pretty poor offering, which is quite insane from these two brewers and for the style - but this really isn’t worth saving. If you have one of these, drink it now and save the disappointment from growing and having you cellar this beer for absolutely no reason. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station (of course), in Portland, Oregon on 27-September-2013 for US$7,27 sampled at home in Washington on the other end of the country on 23-August-2015, nearly two full years later after purchase and this wasn’t worth it at all! Though poured into sample glasses, I believe I got enough so here’s my take.
The appearance was a hazed over orange to brown color with a light half finger white foamy head that quickly subsided and didn’t leave any lacing.
The smell had a nice balance of sweet peachy/apple/piney-ness with a light dank quality but still a light sour Brett sort of thing going on.
The taste was mainly sweet and carried a light sour note to leave a decent bitter hoppiness roaming around the tongue.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium leaving a decent sessionable quality about it.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good sour/wild ale that I would come back to, however, I think I only want to base on the fact that this is more balanced and controls the brett in this one. 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 22, 2013
Bottle:   Dirty orange, darker, large foamy sandy head, nice lacing.   Barnish nose, bright, bretty, a little funky.   Does have a hoppy nose, but its subdued.   Mealy and bretty on the tongue.   Flat hoppiness, musty, pixie stix like sweetness lingers.   Somewhat of an odd duck.   Its like a Bretted Danish version of an American Pale Ale.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Interesting beer...

GREAT idea. Gold pour. Fluffy white head. Nice aroma of a gentle IPA with hints of barnyard funk. Flavor is smooth and gentle, blending the sour funk of the brett with the hop profile quite nicely. Bomber from Belmont Station. Pours translucent copper with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Aroma is mild brett over caramel and floral hop. Med body or better. Flavor is bretty, with mild caramel and some indecipherable hop. It’s certainly towards the wild side. It’s quite hoppy. Bottle... Poured rich, ruby reddish with an easy forming egg-shell hued head. This was hard to nail down. It failed and succeeded at the same time. I held a bottle for a couple of months after release hoping some brett would take over. But also had fear any of the fresh hoppiness would become stale. I hardly detected any brett character in this beer. It had a decent amount of sweetness but it succeeded with a nice floral, citrus punch of hop flavor without being too bitter. I’d be interested to see now this beer does in a year.
