as Breakside Liquid Sunshine Pilsner, 5.3% ABV
Hazy pale blond color with creamy head. Aroma of straws. Dry mouthfeel; some flavor of corn; ordinary bitterness, a bit lemony, with a hint of grass, but without a clear Hallertau hops evidence.
Not what promised.
Tap at Breakside, PDX, 25/05/13. Listed as 5.1% ABV.
Murky pale yellow with a thin white head which clears to the edge.
Nose is lemon zest, grass, pale malts, cereals.
Taste comprises citrus, grass, cereals, pale malts.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish.
Ok pils. mcberko (17830) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 25, 2014
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose brings out grassy hops, grains, and biscuity malt. Flavour is similar, with really nice grassy hops, biscuity malt and grains. Very grassy, fairly hoppy and dry, with very high drinkability. Great stuff. Rich gold, abundant herbal hops on the nose, the palate having some brighter citrus hops (all hersbrucker, though, apparently). There seems like maybe some of the heavier malt/hop dynamic of a pilsner that contrasts with this dynamic. So it’s nice, but also a bit odd.

On tap @ Breakside. Clear golden pour with white foam. A little sweeter than I’d really care for. Slight citrus and floral hop notes, but really an odd note of white grape, some apple, and bready malts. Pretty sweet tasting and not anywhere near as much hop character as I would have hoped for. Kind of a let down. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 16, 2014
Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours translucent lemon/gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of fruit and mild earth/spice. Med body. Flavor is fruity/lemon with earth/spice. It’s pretty flavorful. Hops tend to hide the breadiness very well. Although it finishes less than dry, it works well. Oh so much tastier than the Mittel Europa pils. Well, maybe PU excepted. :) DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - MAR 16, 2015
[2/26/15] Draught at Breakside Brewery in Portland. Golden color. Aroma of DMS and a hoppy hint. Flavor has some graininess, a bit of DMS and a bitterish grassy finish. Rather light-bodied. djd07 (14508) - Houston, Texas, USA - APR 30, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is wheat grass and herbs. Thin mouth, herbs, grass, mineral, decent. slowrunner77 (12044) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 17, 2014
"Meh. Nuthin stood out at all for this one. Standard grain bill, standard hops, color, body...you get the idea. Kinda...I dunno? Standard :) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..."
