COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dessert stout brewed with lactose caramel and fleur de sel, inspired by our friends Tyler & Kim Malek at Salt & Straw. Tyler has been working on perfecting a lactose caramel syrup that mimics the flavor in his sea salt and caramel ice cream. After a few test blends, were worried that this might be the most addictive dessert beer ever made.

22oz bottle pours a dark brown with a tan head. Sweet caramel, light chocolate roast, cocoa powder, and sugar for aroma. Taste is pleasant, smooth creamy body with a rich caramel finish. Drinks like a milk stout, I would have liked a little more salt but this was enjoyable.

Tap @ Rattle N Hum: Dark black with a tan head. Sweet malts with a great balanced flavor of sweet and tang. You notice the caramel in the prolonged aftertaste.

Tap at Beer Zen event at Maruho. Near black with a low light tan head. A pleasant aroma with sea salt, soy, lightly charred caramel, a milky touch and even a hint of booze. A soy cracker flavour, salt on the lips, that segued into chocolate and rich malts, hop bitterness. Worth a try.

Draught @ Catfish. Inky black with very small frothy beige head that disappeared immediately, very faint mocha aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish mocha taste with salty ending, thin body, medium bitter mocha finish with alcohol undertones. Started well but finished weak, the salt is not really very noticeable.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a rich, four centimetre tall pure deep brown head. Aroma of alcohol, caramel, sugar, honey, grain and quite a bit of chocolate. Medium to Full-bodied; Sweet chocolate and honey flavour with a lot of caramelised sugars and roasted malt throughout and a noticeable bitterness towards the end. Aftertaste shows the roasted malt, oatmeal, grain, alcohol and especially the sweetness throughout. Overall, a very nice beer with a good balance of sweet and bitter, with a full rich malt finish - nice and pungent, even in the heat of Hawaii! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Sack N Save (Foodland) in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii [Island], Hawaii yesterday on 11-August-2016 sampled in my hotel/condo a few minutes later after the power went out on 11-August-2016 for US$6,88.

650ml bottle. Pours an opaque black with a large, frothy, long lasting, tan head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, caramel and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, vanilla and just a hint of salt in a mildly bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft to flat carbonation. Very tasty.

On draft at Beer Belly in Albany. The pour is a medium brown with hints of garner shining through there is a thin ring of khaki colored head that leaves a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty disappointing. There is a light caramel up front, but the bitter roast just moves in and takes over. The caramel vanishes and its left with a dry dark cocoa powder. Eh. The flavor is not good. There is a lactose sweetness right up front and that same cocoa powder throughout. Its dry and not that great. The salt is nowhere to be found and the caramel is incredibly lacking. The mouth feel is thin and light with a thin carbonation that makes this drink like chocolate water. The aftertaste is lightly bitter and cocoa based. This isnt a very good beer.
