Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Light smoke aroma. Light smoke flavor with light chocolate and light nuttiness. Medium bodied. Light smoke and light chocolate linger with light roast and light nuttiness. Oakes (19027) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 30, 2016
Dark brown. Has an ashy nose. Roasty smoke palate. Fairly thin-bodied for the style. Doesn’t have that much malt complexity, at least not enough to pull the smoke across the palate. raphael (1295) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 18, 2015
Not a big porter guy, but just seemed my best choie. erlaxing. good for it to be orter and not stout, that lighter body. still a bit of roast malt mixed in with the smoke & coffee flavors, molasses. aroma more coffee than smoke, brown sugar. perfect head. [The Breakside tap room serves their beer perfectly, tastes clean, well carbonated, & on the cold side.] brokensail (16678) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 30, 2015
On tap @ Breakside. Black pour with khaki foam. Pretty roasty and smokey beer. Has some smoked almonds, chocolate, a mild saltiness. Perhaps a touch of fruit, but not all that sweet. Tastes a little bit burn and salty. Mildly meaty and smokey. Kind of ashy, too... Not a bad beer, just not really my thing. fiulijn (21471) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2015

The color is very dark, almost black. Nice aroma of smoke and oven fire bread. Dark chocolate flavor, good body strength, a lot of dark bread and some rye; smoke; mildly sweet.
On tap at the brewery. Pours a pure black color with a small beige head. A light milky chocolate nose. The flavor is big chocolate, ash, milky, oats. GothGargoyle (2588) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 15, 2015
On tap at Breakside. Dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma is smoke, chocolate, jerky. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, lightly smoky on the palate with an umami finish. Taste is chocolate, smoke. mcberko (19186) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 5, 2015
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small beige head. Nose brings out lightly smoked notes, a little pepper, and dry oatmeal. Flavour is really well-balanced, with light smoke, oats, some cocoa and a hint of sweetness. Remarkably well-balanced and quite a deep palate for a porter. Excellent. Ferris (16722) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 4, 2015
Draft - Smoke and lots of toast. Jet black brown with a decent beige head. Smoke, toasted malts and some chocolate notes. Nice, but lots of toast like a rich schwartzbier. djd07 (15663) - Houston, Texas, USA - APR 30, 2015
