On tap at Breakwater. Served in a taster glass by the beautiful Christina. Wow. This is an awesome beer. I can see why it won gold at GABF. I don’t understand the low ratings on BA, which may have been a batch botched by an unclean line or something. Probably my favorite beer at Breakwater. Light sweetness. Light sourness. Thicker body. Creamy lasting red/white head. Natural cherry/raspberry aroma. Excellent. jimbowood (1036) - Freeport, Georgia, USA - DEC 29, 2009
Draft from bp. Looks like a kriek, but has this weird bitterness in the finish that takes away from the overall product. iowaherkeye (2703) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - DEC 21, 2009
On tap at Breakwater. Opaque reddish brown with a one finger creamy pink head, fair retention. Aroma of sweet raspberries and cherries--more sweet than tart. Also a bit of toasted malts. Flavor adds some cinnamon and has stronger cherries, though lightly tart. Not too sweet, either. Bitterness was minimal, and sourness peaked at a 2 or so. Tastes nothing like the 6.9% the chalkboard claims. Medium body with light to moderate creamy carbonation. More like a fruit beer than a kriek, but not too bad. Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart own it, though. Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 17, 2009
On tap at the San Diego Brewers Guild fest. Pours with a muddy, reddish-brown body topped by a thin to medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a strong cherry note and a nice tartness. Medium bodied and dry. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Served on tap at the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival 2009. The appearance is a deep berry hue. The flavors and aromas are blackberry, raspberry, cherry, with a nice malt backbone.

San Diego Brewers Guild Fest 09: Nose was a little sloppy yet exhibited some berry essence. the appearance was an orgy of berriness...yogurt-like in thickness...smoothie-esque..and like purple mud. Flavors certainly bringing out the berries and the cherry...raspberry notes rejoicing everywhere...vividly cakey sometimes...body thick enough...berries coming through good....can’t find too many faults as a fruit beer. nicely done! can8ianben (1545) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 17, 2009
Sweet and sour cherry flavor in a brownish malty beer. Really very pleasant. Probably the most interesting beer they had on tap at the brewpub. doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 30, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Pours super cloudy, milky looking purple with a thin white head that leaves specks of lace. Smells like slightly sour grape juice with some malt and alcohol. Tastes about the same, slightly sour grape juice, some vinegar, some malt. It’s good, different, but good. Nice, full body, almost has a texture to it I feel like. Good carbonation. elihapa (1553) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - SEP 30, 2009
9/29/09 notes: GABF Friday, session two. I was attracted to the name, so naturally I had to try it. The nose and flavor displayed tasty berry notes as advertised, but it lacked that crisp tartness that accompanies many top Krieks. For that reason, I kept getting the impression that it wasn’t balanced all that well. OK though. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - SEP 5, 2009
Cloudy purple with almost no head. Cinnamon cherry sugar and marrion berry aroma and taste with some sharp citrus notes.
