COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy. (Available at Breckenridge Pubs and Restaurants and bottled as 471 Small Batch Double Hopped IPA.)

Light copper color with medium sized off white head. Aroma has a fair amount of herbal hops, sharp caramel. Flavor is malty, bit of hops, somewhat thin, with a midly bitter finish. Just fair.

Clear golden amber with an off white head. Citrus, grapefruit aroma, with a slight detection of pine. Taste of sweet grapefruit, a pleasant bitterness. This is truly a great refreshing alcoholic beverage with a well hidden high alcohol content, one of my favoroites.

Bottle...Somewhat faint aroma for the style. Grapefruit hops and cookie malt are distinct in this brew. The flavor is an improvement. Not top notch for the style, but I still like it. Fairly smooth, more of a toned down imperial IPA. Very good and unexpected.

22 oz bottle that pours a crystal-clear amber with a light white head. a watery aroma with mostly resinous american-style hops aroma. but it seems like they managed to extract some hops bitterness without much of the associated hops flavor - a very soft and subdued bitterness and a sweet finish that feels dry from a medium bitter hops finish. ever-so-alcoholic and just not quite enough interplay between the malt and hops although both are present.

Bottle. Amber colour with a white head. Malty, light fruity, citric, hop aroma and a sweet malty, floral, lemon, hop, pinetree taste. Medium body with a dry light alcoholic finish.

Bottle obtained thru trade with DavidP. Thanks. Golden coloured. Quite cleaer. Dense beige and quite creamy head. Sweet and herbal aroma with some fruity notes. Has piney notes as well. Fruitys, pine, flowers and some citric notes in the flavour. Medium to full bodied. Balanced and very easy to drink. Has a fine balanced bitterness in the end. Good one.

Draft at Falling Rock back in Sep 05. Fairly clear amber pour...big fluffy off-white head. Sweet malt aroma, grapefruity, other citrus fruits abound. Flavor is also a good mix of sweetish malts, floral, citric hoppiness...caramel cookie notes. Nice even sweet/bitter finish. Medium bodies...very tasty.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2006 Tap: Red color, with a medium head. Aroma of hops and rum. Sweeter than expected with the alcohol quite clear. Bottle: More brown than the tap. About the same head and aroma. But, more hoppy.

Orange with a good head and thick sticky lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine with a rather thin body and creamy citrus and pine finish.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2007 The pour reveals a cloudy orange color with a thin white head. Good aroma of citrusy, spicy hops with caramel malt. Good flavor of citrusy, spicy hops with caramel malt and a bitter finish. The body is medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. A good, competent double IPA.
