Currently my favorite beer if I’m going to have more than one. Delicious and perfect in all ways I know. ims080198 (2) - , Indiana, USA - AUG 5, 2008 does not count
Quite possibly, the perfect IPA--or even just the perfect beer! beergod (103) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 1, 2008
Pours a big off white head, and it smells great. Nice dark orange in color, smells of citrus! If you’ve ever taken a bite of an orange ,or grape fruit this is very similar. Nice long hoppy flavor with a finish that lasts forever. This is a big people drink! Ionlyrate5s (103) - New York, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Always gotta have this when in Denver during GABF, awesome peach citrus nose, great over top hop fresh flavor without working too much into it. Such a big pleasant hoppy brew A+++++ imanerd (37) - Novi, Michigan, USA - OCT 11, 2006
Clear coppery color, good head and retention. Aroma is has strong citrus notes, and some light piney notes. Very plentifully hopped. I love this beer.

Loved this IPA, very rich taste with a thick white head. Can, unfortunately, no longer find in Texas. puggy211 (712) - cordova, Tennessee, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Pours syrupy amber with a medium off white head that laces well. Nose is strong floral and grapefruit hops. Flavor has initial sweet malty notes that trend later towards nicely bitter, mostly citrus hops. Finish is pine hops and nicely alcoholic. Very good,Awsome! Bottle from Capone’s. Hazy dark straw pour with 2-finger creamy white head. Aroma of big caramel malt, with heavy tropical and citrus fruit, including mango, tangerine, honeydew, heavy hops, and a lot of cracked black pepper. The flavor is rich caramel malt with the variety of tropical fruits, mango in front and tangeriny melon toward the back, plus a uniform spreading of black pepper throughout. The mouthfeel is complex, well balanced, and velvety. This beer is the younger brother of Dreadnaught, and I’d bet they have about 80% homology between them. CH47 (27) - Kansas, USA - MAR 9, 2010
Color is rich amber yet hazy. Nose doesnt show much hops but might be due to age. Grain and cerreal malt does show up in the aroma along with slight lemongrass or rosemary from the yeast. Head retention good. Body is full and shows lots of toasted malt, lots of caramelization while show up finish the job. A+ obxdude10 (2324) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 15, 2010
Review #1600!! And I could not have asked for a better one! This double IPA really hit the mark for me! This beer had it all! It started with an inviting pour of a light amber color with a rich and generous off-white head. The head left a beautiful and attractive lace around the glass. The nose was bold, with a good amount of spiciness, citrus, bread, hop resin and pine. The flavors were dangerously delicious, with notes of bitter, spicy and floral hops. They were balanced nicely with a sweet, bready and earthy malt. The 471 finished strong, with an intense bitterness, lots of dry and spicy citrus flavors and a fair amount of woodiness. This was a fantastic beer to celebrate another milestone with!
