A Moderately Dark Amber. Mine was cloudy. Kinda interresting. The smell is malty but a tad sour. Doesn’t taste too bad. Just the tiniest bit of hop bite smothered in caramel malts. I almost taste a little rasin or something.
It’s alright. I have certainly had worse. A little boring, but not at all offensive.
12 ounce can from the sampler pack purchased at Liberty Beer in Pittsburgh. Crisp and refreshing. Pretty average but also pretty good. rdixon77 (3064) - Georgia, USA - NOV 14, 2017
Been awhile...finding old stuff I haven't rated. Pretty standard boring amber ale. Mild malt with a little bit and earthy finish. bigcat03 (337) - Columbus, Nebraska, USA - OCT 29, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2017 Bottle poured into a shaker glass. Ruby/amber color and a foamy tan head. Aroma is pleasant with toffee, caramel, and a good dose of toasted malt. Initial taste is watery and mild with hints of caramel and some roasted malts. Aftertaste is very mild...not much there. Body is thin but carbonation is spot on. Much like every other Breckenridge brew I've tried, this one is lacking any real conviction. It's watery and rather "meh" about being a beer. This brewery wins the participation award for brewing beer. They're trying, but apparently not very hard. Pithikos (13) - Utah, USA - OCT 22, 2017
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

This beer has a mild aroma of a wheat beer with a slight hint of the flavors to come.

The appearance is a beautiful amber, gold.
The taste is the real kicker. I see a lot of reviews claiming a grainy taste, but I am mostly coming through with a honey. Not just any honey though, clover honey. Light and sparkling, somewhat thin, but very well suited for the style and flavor.
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2017 B. Pours a clear golden color with white head. A little light on flavor, but well balanced and refreshing GTAEgeek (2455) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - FEB 22, 2017
On tap at Fuzzy’s. Clear, caramel color, with a big, frothy, beige head. The aroma is toffee, vanilla, smooth caramel, spruce, and spice. Sweet and syrupy, with a light bitterness. Light to medium body, with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. This is a fair beer, but a little weak. justsayswell (285) - Kansas City, Kansas, USA - JAN 3, 2017
Clear amber pour. Rocky, chunky white head with large bubbles. Nose is faint bitter hops and pale malt. Crackery malt base, caramel, spicy hops. Finishes dry and a little metallic. Not really my thing, but not awful. jredmond (8769) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 12, 2016
Draft at the Marlin Bar. Pours a clear amber body with thin white lacing. Nose is bitter hop and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is bitter, astringent and spicy with noticeable malt character drowning out any semblance of a hop profile. PanMarek (464) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 26, 2016
Transparent, dark yellow with white foam. Toasted cereal malt nose with some grassy hops. Taste starts sharp, but the malts take over and smooth it out. Woody, some caramel and a bitter, resin hops finish. Medium body, light fizz.
