Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Pours a light brown/amber with small white foam cap that dissipates quickly. Aroma is all malt, with nice caramel, nutty, and toffee notes. The taste is where this beer goes wrong. Starts with slightly nutty malt taste up front, with absolutely nothing behind it. Instead of having layers of taste, the initial nutty taste immediately fades into thin, watery nothing. Finish is a lasting, somewhat astringent, unpleasant nutty malt. It’s not often I toss a beer out, but this one went down the drain

Draft at the Marlin Bar. Pours a clear amber body with thin white lacing. Nose is bitter hop and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is bitter, astringent and spicy with noticeable malt character drowning out any semblance of a hop profile.

Transparent, dark yellow with white foam. Toasted cereal malt nose with some grassy hops. Taste starts sharp, but the malts take over and smooth it out. Woody, some caramel and a bitter, resin hops finish. Medium body, light fizz.

Pours a clear amber with light tan head. A malty base with caramel. A malt based taste as well with caramel, grains and light fruits. A dry malt aftertaste.

Pours an iced tea brown with an off white medium head of foam. Fairly descent taste and very smooth. Somewhat ordinary but enjoyable.

Tasting flight at the taproom in Denver. Amber with an off white head, honey biscuity malt aroma. Medium bodied with a chewey texture. This is a malt forward Amber Ale that is very English in style, the first decent beer I tried at this taproom.

This kind of works for me. Aroma is a bit malty but light. Flavor is malty buy pretty dry. A little caramel like, with a little acidic background. Just a pinch of bitter. Pours amber with a lace of thick white foam. A bit sharp carbonation that’s off putting.

On tap it has a honey amber color with a small head. Mild citrus with a maltiness on the nose. Taste is pretty average with some wood, herbs and an earthiness to it. Average finish.

Robe cuivrée et opaque, la mousse se dissipe vite. Arômes résineux et céréales. Goût caramel et résine. Final un peu métallique. Aqueuse. Bof.
