COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The chill of a Colorado high-country winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength. Here it is. At over 7% alcohol, with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate, our holiday seasonal is the fermented equivalent of a good fire.
The ultimate winter warmer.

Relatively disappointing for me. Mild spice, light body, and a finish that doesnt stand out from the start.

A bit out of season, but a 12oz bottle opened on 1st June 2016 while on holiday on Big Bear Lake, California. I thought this a very pleasant wintery brew and although I drank it in lovely warm sunshine it still hit the spot. Brown bodies with red hue, the head an off-white colour. Subtle spice aroma and taste within the malty based brew, mild chocolate notes from the semi-sweet molasses and definitely a fireside beer more than a sunshine brew.

Draught @ Albion. Reddish brown with small foamy beige head, very faint caramel aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish caramel malt taste, faintly spicy, medium spicy finish. Not bad, not great either.

Nice malty winter warmer aroma with baking spice notes. Beautiful crystal clear copper/bronze color with a thin but persistent eggshell head. Roasted and toasty brown malt flavors with a nice alcohol bite even though its not a strong ale. Some dark caramel and brown sugar notes. The body is a bit thin. Theres a bit of earthy bitterness in the back and compliments the sweetness. Overall a very nice Christmas ale which I should give another try next year before Christmas rather than 2 months after it.

This strong amber tries to be hoppy and malty at the same time and just ends up being abrasive. Bitter and a touch chocolatey sweet, a little alcoholic.

Not coming back for this one. Only thing that makes this a Christmas offering is the label. Appearance: Brown bottle; Direct pour Sam Adams tulip. Amber with orange/ pumpkin tones reminiscent of fall offerings. Aroma: Very hoppy, very citrusy. Mouthfeel: Full bodied but a little fizzy Aftertaste: Citrusy, slightly hot/boozy with bitter finish; NO "caramel" or "chocolate" tones as advertised and not sure if this is label mind trick Overall: Well made but nothing at all special as a holiday offering and a little disapointing from a fine brewery. Only thing remeniscent of a "good fire" is the hot imbalance.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a clear amber-caramel color with a modest foamy white head that had shorter retention and slighter cling and lacing. Its aroma featured a malty blend of caramel and chocolate, along with some fig notes and spices. The taste featured notes of caramel and dark fruits along with some sugars, molasses, and a touch of alcohol. The beer had an average-thickness with a somewhat drying effect, ample carbonation, and a touch of alcohol. A bit rough around the edges overall, and could use some refining.
