Decent roast and hop spice aroma. Pretty dark with a decent head. Medium bodied. Hops were up front but complimenting. Roasted dark malts were somewhat subdued. wnp22 (698) - Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, CANADA - AUG 6, 2015
Tasted at Breckenridge Brew Pub. Served in shaker glass. Deep black colour, brownish very thin head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, coffee and tobacco. Very little hop profile in the aroma. Flavour is deep and rich - starts off with dark chocolate, warm of the alcohol content is noted but finishes with a very balanced hop bitterness that counteracts the roasted malt infusion. On tap at the original brewpub. Pour is slightly hazy brown with a small tan head and good lacing. Huge roasty, grapefruit, cocoa, light coffee, and brown sugar in the aroma. Taste is coffee, toffee, grass, bread, cocoa, and earthy hops with a medium bitter finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Nice Black IPA. mjhall89 (36) - - APR 11, 2014
Simply is not as good as other CDA’s/ Black IPA’s. Poured a dark brown, but for some reason the head was inches deep no matter how carefully i poured it. Taste was fairly boring. I don’t recommend this. onceblind (10125) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 6, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2011 Heavy brown in color, with a thin white head. Aroma of fresh picked flowers, earthiness, and roasty black malt, with maybe some soft tones of orange zest. Taste had some black malty earthy sweetness followed by a clean grassy hop finish. Very light nuttiness in the middle, I think. Very balanced with a slight cloy at the start. Dry finish, earthy, and not very bitter. At least, not as bitter as I expected.

Bottle @ Beer Connoisseurs Tasting in FoCo. Dark brown appearance with a tan head. Chocolate malty aroma with a mild piney hoppy nose. Pretty mild piney hoppy, mostly chocolate malty flavor. I’d like to see a stronger hop presence. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2011
On Tap at Breckenridge Brewery Bar-B-Que, 471 Kalamath Street Denver 16/09/2010
