Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout has a thin-to-medium, beige, cola-type head of foam, a very dark-brown (essentially black) appearance, with tight bubble streams on the sides of the glass, and just a few lacing strings left behind. Aroma is of acrid, sharp malt, some raisin, and pungent note. Taste is of acrid, roasted malt, a bit of char, some sweetness, and the bitterness stems from the carbon, more so than from hops. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, and Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout finishes medium-wet and a bit dull. RJT bpar73 (1177) - Bellaire, Michigan, USA - APR 27, 2016

Smelled nice but very very bitter with lingering after taste I found to be very unpleasant.

Dark brown pour, no head. Roasty, smoky, meat aroma. Flavor of chocolate, vanilla, coffee. Slightly bitter, with a smack of ham to it...

Bottle from Gary’s--the only dark they had for a really cold night. It’s fine, just nothing much to it. Pretty smooth, some roast malt flavor. OK. Omar1991 (10) - - JAN 18, 2016
Nothing special and not worth buying. Bitter aftertaste and just not very good

This is a very, very bitter stout. They should have a bitter stout category since it appears so many oatmeal/imperials seem to taste that way. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this, needs way more malt/ABV. radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - DEC 12, 2015
Draft at Madrones in Frederick, MD served in a pint glass; opaque deep dark brown (black) color with thin tan head. Aroma notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and some nuttiness. Taste adds more roast, dark chocolate and oatmeal. Medium body, low-moderate carbonation, creamy, dry with quick roast finish. Nice solid oatmeal stout. 12 oz. bottle, from the bottle. Thanks Steve! Big nose of roasted coffee, chalk, and bread. Sweet and overly roasty, with a harsh bitterness. Medium body, creamy, biting, and pleasantly aggressive. This is a mellow and reasonably tasty stout, but a little too roasted and bitter.
