Pours inky black with brown medium head that lasts well but doesn’t lace very well. Nose is caramel, coffee, aromatic. Flavor is chocolate, sweet, coffee, oatmeal comes out, as well as some black olive. Medium sweetness. Rather thin mouthfeel, but overall very good and I think underrated. Black in color, tannish brownish head. Somewhat astringent, especially for a sweet stout. Somewhat dry, lightly burnt chocolate. Meidum bodied. Eh, it was okay. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - JUL 16, 2005
Black as death with a medium light beige head, really nice looking. Aroma is surprisingly subdued, just some roastyness. The flavor expectedly starts off strong with roasted malt, charcoal and some coffee then gives way to notes of chocolate/mocha. Not sweet, finish is bitter in a burnt/roasty way. The mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy on the palate with subtle carbonation. Great head retention, some lacing left on the glass. Solid stout, but it has the potential to be awesome if more depth is added to the flavor and the aroma. alaskanwarren (286) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 8, 2005
Almost black. Dark dan head. Toasty aroma as it warms up. Alcohol noticable in aroma. Smooth, roasted malt taste. Pleasant bitter finish. A good, warm fuzzy beer. DYCSoccer17 (3691) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 5, 2005
Sampled with Tim, Rudy, and maybe Sammy. This rating is barely legible. Aroma is metallic chocolate with a slight sweetness. Opaque dark brown color with a creamy light tan head. Chocolatey, roasty, and slightly astringent. Boring.

Thaks to Tim. Semi astringent nose. Chococoffee is light. Flavor is coffee, overly bitter malt, cocoa finish. Ratman197 (14698) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUN 29, 2005
Nitro tap poured very dark black with a big creamy amber head. Aromas of roasted malt and oats. Mouthfeel was very smooth and creamy. Flavors of roasty malt and dark chocolate. intheric (20) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 28, 2005
Bottle - this was my first oatmeal stout of any kind, so take this for what it is worth. Excellent frothy head that lasted until the end of the beer. Excellent mouthfeel, very refreshing. BeerandBlues2 (13214) - Escondido, California, USA - JUN 22, 2005
Tap. Pours near black with a tan creamy head and spotty lacing. Dark roasted malt aromas. Dark malt and chocolate flavors, a little roasty. Dark and full bodied palate. Brad (364) - Berkley, Michigan, USA - JUN 21, 2005
22 oz. Bottle enjoyed on the golf course: Pours a dark brown with a diminshing tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, light coffee and chocolate. Flavor was mostly choco-roast with some hop bite near the finish. Mouthfeel was lighter that I would’ve liked, but still had a bit of chewiness to it.
