Another one from the brewery. Pours black as night, with almost no head and some tan lacing around the sides of the glass. This one would go really well on a day that you are out in the backyard grilling. Slightly oily, with a burnt kind of day old coffee taste and very full-bodied. Worth a try. Draught at the brewpub. Black - thick brown head. Licorice, chlorid, creamy, burned, smooth body, coffee, light hoppy, fruity. Dryness. OK. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 15, 2010
(draught at flying saucer Addison) pours lack with creamy nitrogen head. Nose of cream, cola, light chocolate. Taste of bitter roasted malts, cream, alcohol and semi sweet chocolate. Good but not great. DocJitsu (1974) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - AUG 20, 2014
Pours a gorgeous very dark brown with a perpetual, flat, creamy, one-finger, smooth head. Unassuming nose. Smooth as silk. It’s a little cold, so the flavors don’t emerge properly. After the beer finishes, smokiness and plastic and a little caramel. Ernest (7693) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 24, 2005

Draft. Dark brown color, brown head. Aroma of burnt coffee, leather. Taste is very bitter burnt cocoa. A bit astringent. pottygok (548) - Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2014
Aroma: Faint hints of chocolate and coffee, but you almost have to stick your nose in the beer to get them.
Appearance: Dark mahogany with rich tan head.
Taste: Light sweetness throughout, with a bitter finish at the end.
Palate: Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, dry finish.
Overall: Very thin and underdeveloped. Not really a good offering at all. pagvan229 (14) - panama city beach, Florida, USA - JAN 15, 2016
Very little aroma. It poured dark with no head. The taste was flat with little taste of what’s in the beer. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 10, 2005
Lasting beige head, dark cola coloured hue. Hazelnutty malts procure a dark chocolate feel that leafy hops somehow passes easily. Interesting, if mellow, developing date, anise, cigar and cola notes take form among the evolving roastiness, but everything is too subtle and there’s a bit too much tartness to my tastes..
