Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2018 Wasn’t a bad beer, deep heavy flavor, but not as much vanilla flavor as I was hoping for with something called a vanilla porter. Had a heavier chocolate note more than anything else, it was ok overall, just not what I was hoping for.

With a name like vanilla Porter I’m a sucker for anything that has a hint of vanilla in it and being from Breckenridge Colorado I love Colorado so I was really psyched for this beer but fucking disappointment enabled me to say no I’m gonna pass on this it’s bland it’s me it’s just middle of the road piss water ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep cola brown. Light smell of milk and chocolate malts. Light grain taste with despite the color. The vanilla works nicely and unobtrusively into the taste. Light body and moderate carbonation make this a drinkable and easy beer. Tasty.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2018 Dark brown pour with a creamy tan head. Smells creamy with chocolate malts. The vanilla flavor comes through clearly but is not overpowering. Silky, chocolatey, and creamy. Very drinkable, as promised.

Bottle from Ocean 9, Miami Beach. Pours dark brown with an average sized beige head. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark fruits, nut, vanilla, light toasting and cocoa. Medium sweetness, medium bitterness, just a slight hint of sour. Medium body, slightly oily texture, average carbonation. Finish is a little dry, with lasting roasted, chocolate and fruit notes.

Pours quite a dark brown with a fluffy tan head. Smells of roasted coffee/chocolate with a strong vanilla note. Taste is fairly heavy with a bit of hops, overpowered by vanilla sweetness. The vanilla taste is authentic and not chemical or artificial; the sweetness works with the beer, mostly due to a smooth, full body. I wouldn't drink this every time -- probably a bit too sweet for me -- but it's a very well done porter, with really impressive body coming out of a bottle, and I'll almost certainly have more in the future.

Pours a dark brown, nearly black, with a tan head. Has a strong chocolate and creamy coffee aroma. Very rich creamy chocolate taste with dark malts and coffee. A nice balanced vanilla chocolate aftertaste.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2017 12 oz bottle. Aroma is vanilla, coffee, cocoa, and leather. Dark chocolate nibs, coffee, and some vanilla. Tastes fine but not all that interesting as porters go. Fair amount of carbonation on the tongue.

Wow can't believe I haven't already rated this one. Dark brew with decent head and a hint at the vanilla in the aroma. Taste is pretty much a typical porter with the addition of the vanilla to set it apart. Since I love vanilla this one is a winner in my opinion. Been drinking this for years in samplers and in six packs. Pretty much a winter tradition now.

Pours dark brown from the bottle. Tall, sudsy head that sticks to the glass. Aroma is vanilla, dark bread. Taste is sweet with a lightly tart undertone that becomes more noticeable at the finish. Aftertaste is vanilla. Body is medium. Okay.
