Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewerys Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Pours a clear medium brown with a medium head of tan foam. Not much aroma. Fairly thin and watery with not much flavor. Not really bad but just not that good.

Pours from bottle a deep dark brown with garnet depths, one-finger, slightly pinkish buff head that leaves some nice lacing. Nose is roast malt, caramel, slight milk chocolate. First swallow had me asking where the vanilla was, but that came through stronger after a moment. Sprightly mix with the malt and lactose, balanced again chocolate and whiff of dark fruit without becoming heavy. The selling points here are creamy mouthfeel, controlled alcohol and pleasant flavor not trying to pulverize your palate. A good session beer.

355ml bottle from The Perfect Pour. Pours a very dark brown with reddish tinges, and a tan head. Scent strongly indicates vanilla, some roast maltiness coming through. Flavor is strongly vanilla as well, with more usual stout aspects supporting. Only a little sweet, and with a dry finish. Nothing complex going on, but very drinkable.

There are many vanilla porters out there with varying degrees of deliciousness. This BB vanilla porter is one of the best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasting flight at the taproom in Denver. Cola black with a light beige head. The aroma is soft pats, vanilla and chocolate. Nice. Smooth luscious body which is probably all down to the Nitro. The taste is sugary sweet vanilla that seems like extract plus chewey oat like malt character. Alright but I cant believe the best beer I had here was a boring amber ale. These guys brew macro-style craft...

This is a fun beer. Not pretentious, just easily approachable porter with vanilla aroma. Perfect with vanilla ice cream. Good dark malt, low hop bitterness and real vanilla aroma. Nice

Pour is a kind of reddish brown, transparent, with a finger of head that dissipates pretty quickly. Nose is sweet vanilla and a little bit of roast. Taste is heavy on the sweet vanilla, with a little bit of roasty malt in for some backbone. This just doesnt say porter to me.
