Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Bottle. Pours dark brown thin tan head. Caramel, nuts, chocolate, and hint of vanilla aroma. Mild sweet taste. Medium-full body, thicker texture, dry roasty finish. Pretty good overall. A little too much carbonation for me, also more vanilla would have been nice.

Wow can't believe I haven't already rated this one. Dark brew with decent head and a hint at the vanilla in the aroma. Taste is pretty much a typical porter with the addition of the vanilla to set it apart. Since I love vanilla this one is a winner in my opinion. Been drinking this for years in samplers and in six packs. Pretty much a winter tradition now.

Pours dark brown from the bottle. Tall, sudsy head that sticks to the glass. Aroma is vanilla, dark bread. Taste is sweet with a lightly tart undertone that becomes more noticeable at the finish. Aftertaste is vanilla. Body is medium. Okay.

12 oz bottle. Smells of vanilla and yeast with alcohol notes. Pours a dark brown with a big tan head. Sweet flavors of vanilla but hard to discern much else. Not bad.

Not a very robust Porter and I don't taste any vanilla, which is quite disappointing.

Dark brown/black color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, rich vanilla, & some caramel; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, chocolate, vanilla, and coffee; Overall, a little thin - but decent.

Somewhat thin. Had a bit of a burnt flavor. It might be worth another try looking at other peoples reviews ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Vanilla flavour comes off as cheap. More of a brown ale than a porter - very diluted. Brings me back to the flat, watered-down cask ales in a shady UK pub, and not in a fun way.

A buddy of mine bought this for me all the way from Houston. I had it bottled. There's definitely a decent hint of vanilla but with a decent bitter taste to balance. This is very different from other porters I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aus der Flasche mit 5.4% Alk. Dunkles braun schaum Ok, im Geruch Karamell malz Vanille etwas Holz dunkle Schokolade, im Geschmack süsslich Vanille Karamell etwas malz etwas nussig etwas holzig, nur leicht Kaffe, recht lecker

Almost a chocolate porter infused with a vanilla flavor. This juxtaposition creates a incredibly smooth yet flavorful porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
