Medium brown in color with little head. Mild aroma does not prepare you for the incredibly delicious flavor. There is a rich vanilla flavor with a nice malty base. There is a light smokey flavor that enhances the flavor. It has a medium-light body with soft carbonation. This beer could almost be called dessert. yesyouam (1016) - Fairport, New York, USA - SEP 7, 2011
Breckenridge Vanilla Porter is a dim, dark brown ale with a khaki head that quickly fades to a bubbly ring. The aroma is brimming with chocolate and roast. There is a slight hint of coffee in the nose and the vanilla seems to manifest itself almost as oak. It’s medium bodied, smooth and sudsy. The finish is dry and clean. It tastes much like it smells, but stronger, with lots of chocolate and roast. There’s a little coffee in there too. The vanilla is not prominent and comes off as oak. There’s not really any noticeable bitterness or sweetness. There’s a slight, roasty aftertaste. This is smooth, tasty and easy to drink. NeoHippie2 (1074) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - OCT 17, 2011
This is a great porter. Lots of roasted malt character with hints of chocolate and coffee. And then there comes the vanilla bean. It really adds a nice complex note to this brew. The vanilla flavor is very present on the palate as well. Finishes rich and long with the vanilla lingering. Solid porter and a very unique brew. well done. katrinaez (2013) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 8, 2014

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2007 Who would have concieved deep in your mind that deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of an extroadinary Porter, with an enigmatic electrical surprise tossed in for good measure, real genuine vanilla bean. It has a vanilla kiss in a fantastically rich, dark sea. I dedicate this beer to zack and cat, may they have many good years of marriage untill they grow sick and tired of each other and die old and grouchy together. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - MAR 23, 2012
This is much sweeter than I expected - the vanilla really comes through. It has very little aroma or head, but a great bitingly sweet flavor. charule (2268) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Bottle. Dark pour with light foamy head. Sweet vanilla aroma. Nice sweet malt flavor with vanilla goodness. Marchand317 (4) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 3, 2014 does not count
Ok to get the flavor to really peak don't drink it so cold! I made that amateur mistake! All I have to say it reminds me of an A&W cream soda

Bottle. I didn’t really care for this the first time I tried it. But I’d already bought six of em, so hey....ya gotta drink em, right? Gotta say I’m glad I went back for seconds! Thoroughly enjoyed the second one..and the third...etc. Vanilla, chocolate, nuts, with a nice balance of hops. Well made! Has a permanent spot in my fridge. Solid pour!
