COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

750ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a clouded reddish purple colour with a tiny white head. Nose is ample currants, wild yeasts, and some lactic. Flavour is a great example of black currants, funk, and overall quite tart. This is quite a tasty sour!

Purplish colour with no head. On the nose, has a nice cassis aroma with a touch of wildness and lactic. The black currant character is really nice, the brett isn’t bad. The body is decent fullness. A bit tart is the finish.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy bright pink with a small white head. Aroma is super pithy, with lots of tart black currant, brett and pithy notes. Flavour is super pithy and fruity, with tons of lightly tart black currant, heaps of pith, and light brett. Very fruity, with a tart and pithy finish. Very bright and certainly unique. Very good.

Bottle from Berkeley Bowl West. Pours bright red with an attractive pink head and a black currant aroma. There is a moderately sour red fruit flavor with a tart finish. Delicate and tasty.

heman (1267) - Tychy, POLAND - FEB 11, 2017

DuffMan (10773) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 8, 2017
Bottle, shared at Superbowl Party. Lovely purple-red hue, pinkish head. Sour berry aroma, woody funk. Distinctly black currant fruit on the palate, moderate acetic sourness, spicy oaky undertones, dry finish. Very nice.
