COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Thanks to VanJamer @ BA for this bottle! Pours a deep red with a pinkish rim that leaves some lacing. Nose is a bit weird with a slight "smoky" presence that is disturbing to me along with slight musty basement, oxidation and fruits (cassis). It gets better as it warms, though, with more cassis shining through. Taste is moderately acid and equally weird/awkward. For the first few sips I get tomato juice... Unsettling. After that, red fruits, jam and oak. Body and carbonation were average and mouthfeel is definitely vinous. Overall it got better as we went down the bottle but it was so weird that I might not be tempted to try again.

bottle shared by tropicalMC, thanks bro. hazy dark pink-purple with a reviving light pink cap, some lacing. obvious cassis, earthy stone fruits, peppery melons, funky tomatoes, blueberries, rosé wine, melon fruitiness, light to medium acidity - plain citric mostly; pink pepper. moderate to light carbonation, light body, tart and spicy-peppery finish. linear tartness with a bright cassis fruitiness.

Luktar som koncentrerad svart vinbärssaft. Tydlig suröls karaktär med smak av svarta vinbär. Inte illa alls. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Another top contender from Friday’s tasting. Didn’t know about this brewery until then, but this was fantastic.

From my backlogg: Draught at en Skånsk Ölfestival, BrewDog Bar, Gothenburg. A bit hazy reddish beer with an pinkish head. Sourish fruity cherry and lot of berries caramell earthy funky citrus aroma. Fruity sourish, black currant citrus earthy and a bit sweet flavour.

Roséfärgat huve med knepig gul ton ändå häftigt. Små bubblor ligger lent över vätskan. Trevlig Svartvinbärsdoft! Vilken syra! Torrt! Fantastisk Svartvinbärs smak! Äkta Svartvinbär känner man. Inget AI. Lätt i kropp. Man känner alla delar av vinbäret, skalen & bladen. Hela kalaset. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark ruby red body, unclear, and with a pink, finger-thick head. The aroma is quite cherry-ish at first, with a nice earthy blackcurrant showing up after a few seconds. Some peppery hints and a lemony, funky touch. The flavor has loads of blackcurrant, some pepper notes, lemon and a leathery hint. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Lovely lasting finish. Really pleasant this one, even though I don’t care too much for blackcurrant. 150524
