COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 Sample @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours hazy ruby red with a small pinkish white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is refreshing and fruity with black currants, hay, lemon juice, red currants, lemon zest, dry soil and hints of barnyard. Taste is sour and fruity with black and red currants, lemon juice, hay, crackers, barntard, lemon zest and brett. Mouthfeel is tart, dry and light bodied. Finish is slightly sour, dry, tart and fruity with lemon juice, black and red currants, hay and hints of brett. Nothing too complex but damn freshly fruity and nice. After trying 5 beers from Brekeriet I find myself looking forward to whats next even though nothing has blown me away so far. But I just cant deny how excited I am to see someone take the initiative to start Swedens first modern style farmhouse brewery. Keep up the good work. I will definitely try to find whatever you release.

Bottle at Bruces, London. Pours a lovely, deep bloody ruby-red with a fine, frothy pink head. Hefty ripe and tangy berry aroma, some herbs and pepper. Light sweet flavor, some tangy berries, a bit of peppery spice, some herbs, cherries, sweat. Light to medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. UPDATED: JAN 13, 2015 Bottle... RBSG 2014... Pours rusty-red with a mid-sized, fluffy, off-white head. Great retention. The bouquet furnishes a shit-ton of fruity, earthy, tannic currants. Medium to full-bodied with soft carbonation. As goes the nose, so goes the flavor - loads of tart, earthy, tannicly bitter currants. Tangy Full-bodied, raspy, finish.

Jaksmart (454) - Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 12, 2014
Tap @ Fermentoren Aarhus. It pours a clear bright red color wit a thin crust of white foam. Aroma is a quite concentrated berry-cocktail, obviously dominated by the added blackcurrant, which comes through nicely. The tartness is particularly sharp and extremely clean and non-barnyardy. Just a bit of funk, but nicely clean. Taste is light and refreshing, also with a clean and delicate sourness that sticks on the palate nicely. Quite straigtforward and easy to drink, well balanced and well-brewed. I should have liked a faint hint of bitterness in the end, just for the extra balance, but thats just me. Excellent!
