Surprisingly good Belarusian brew, it has pronounced notes of raisin and chocolate rather than the expected chemical overburn of a post-Soviet "krepkoe" (strong). Nice find in an out-of-the-way bottle shop in Tallinn

YantarCoast (1431) - Moscow, RUSSIA - JAN 2, 2017
500ml bottle. Pours pale yellow with a small off-white head with very low retention. Aroma is pale malt, alcohol. Taste is grainy and boozey. Tony_Grayne pretty much summed it up - hard to drink and nothing good about this one.

500 ml bottle. Clear golden colour pour with a tall white steady head. Stays. Medium carbonation. Aroma: malts, apple, cider, alcohol. Flavour: malts, booze, plastic, medicines. Hard to drink. Absolutely worthless. A hobo beer. Yuck.

Bottle 200cl. plastic @ PBF2012.

Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, cardboard, light cereal. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, cardboard and sweet malt. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20120727]

Marduk (8059) - Reval, ESTONIA - JUL 30, 2012
1,5l plastic bottle. Deep amber color. No head, flat. Bready, malty, sweetish aroma. Malty, bready, papery dry flavor. I can’t feel very much of alcohol in it. Which is positive.

1L bottle - shared by Marduk - thanks!
5 Slightly appley sweet aroma, a touch of the classic ESL with the sweetish malts, but some paper later, and even some raisins.
3 Gold, brief head
5 Apple and slightly papery retronasals. Sweet full bready malts, again a classic ESL. Some weirdness too, but not easy to decribe. Some marmite later. Some raisins too.
3 Smooth, full sweet palate, soft carbonation. Finish a little sticky.
9 Pretty solid ESL, flawed in many ways, but we stuck a whole litre down us easily.

PET-bottled at PBF. Clear golden, minimal head. Fruity cardboard aroma. Sweetish with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Bit of soap. No bitterness in a finish with cheap slivovic.
