Hamirubi (595) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - MAY 26, 2016
33cl bottle at De Vlaamsche Reus, at Wageningen in the Netherlands (26 V 2016). a red ale, 6 percent ABV, 18 EBC, 38 EBU. Hazy amber with decent collar. Rather malted ale with lovely sourish notes. The nose has some wild, even brett, and caramel freatures, present in the aroma. In the taste the light hoppiness and keen maltness overwhelm the mouthfeel. The body is fairly light, making this a perfect sweet malted quencher.

Bottle at De Stomme van Campen, Kampen. Aroma is bready malt, sweetish fruits, apricot, some caramel, touch of orange, light hoppy. Did I detect a hint of Brett funk in there? Flavour is above moderate sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. Fairly mild on all fronts but certainly enjoyable.
