Tasting at Bruce’ s pad. Thanks to Leighon for filling in the Brew By Numbers holes! Hazy gold beer with a small bubbly pale cream coloured head. Softish palate, light and airy. Soft airy malt. Litle passion fruit and marmalade.Light soft finish. Nice beer, but a little fluffy!
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours amber with a medium white head. The nose is piney, orange sponge cake, light spice, varnish, white grape and grapefruit. The taste is wood, earth, decent bitterness, varnish, grapefruit, light pepper and wood polish with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Taste doesn’t quite live up to great nose, but a good beer overall. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 15, 2013
Bottle cheers to Leighton. Pours a hazy orange with a small, firm white head leaving great lacing. A great grassy and tropical mix on the nose, touch of dank, big mango and passionfruit and a hint of lychee. Appealing stuff. Taste si sweet tropical fruits, touch resinous, salty caramel, zesty lemon. Not overly bitter. Tasty stuff Beese (3210) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 13, 2013
Bottle from the Brew By Numbers brewery. Poured a light amber/ dark golden colour with a dense, but thin white head. Strong aroma of tangerine, floral hops and banana essence. Bready malt flavours with notes of raisins and Seville oranges. Finish was straw, white grapes and wheat. Good fruity golden ale. Why can’t all golden ales be more like this? Bottle at home, big thanks to Leighton - decorating is over for the day beer III, 02/11/13.
Pours a lightly hazed golden orange with a moderate off white covering.
Nose is citrus fruit, bitter orange, hop aroma, grassy.
Taste comprises orange pith, lemon zest, hoppy notes, jammy fruit, mango, mineral bite
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy hop bitterness at the curtain call.
Most decent GB, though I’d probably have put this as an APA.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a clear golden colour with a big white head. Long lasting foam and lot of carbonation streming off the bottom of the glass. Aroma is hop forward on the fruity side, with pineapple and citrus. Taste is similarly fruity but not overly bitter. Grapefruit and peaches with a touch of acidic note in the finish. Medium mouthfeel and well carbonated. Nice and refreshing. Leighton (22307) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2013
Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours fairly hazy, deep gold with a super tight, creamy off-white head. The aroma holds ripe orange, some bread, melon. Light to medium sweet flavor with a sturdy, bready malt base, some ripening berries, orange, mango. Light to medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Quite clean to finish with further pronounced bready malts along with the juicy hop character of melon, orange and mango, along with secondary notes of berries and pine. A very tasty beer. I could easily knock back a few glasses of this. mR_fr0g (13509) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 19, 2013
Bottle at home thanks to Leighton. Hazed golden orange pour with a nice off white head that fades to a halo. Nose is lovely lemon rind citrus and tropical fruit, lychee and peach. Slight mineral. Flavour is also excellent. The munich gives is enough malt character to weigh up against the substantial hops. Assertive clean bitterness with a touch of grapefruit. Plenty of the juicy fruit hop flavour and clean west coat yeast ferment. I can’t believe this isn’t a Kernel. harrisoni (19336) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2013
Bought at the brewery and drunk at home. Hazy amber colour lasting off white head. Tangerine and grapefruit aroma. Very juicy fruity hops which I like a lot. Mmmm, very delicious. Wow if I didn’t know better I would say this is a Kernel pale ale and there is no higher praise than that. Soft in the mouth, some bitterness on the finish, good tangerine, mango, grapefruit finish. Really good. I love it. But surely an APA rather than a Golden Ale.
