Draft at Waterloo Tap. Tasty, roasty lactose porter with plenty of body. A decent quality ’strong’ porter. Serapac (471) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 26, 2017

Brussels. Black, medium tan head. Espresso, hints of condensed milk. More carbonation than one would expect. Taste interestingly combines the sweet mill coffee element with good bitterness.
330ml. Pours opaque brown/black, with thin tan head. Little on the nose. Taste milk and chocolate/coffee. Overall: a pleasant porter based on a historic London recipe. Modern ’black ipa’s’ are not too dissimilar.

Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, lots of dark chocolate, powdery cocoa, roasty coffee. Flavour is above moderate sweet and medium roasty bitter. Body is medium, carbonation is a bit much and got annoying especially immediately after pouring the beer. A bit of a shame, because the aroma and flavour are both excellent. deanso (10072) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - NOV 21, 2016
