Serapac (551) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 26, 2017
[email protected] Brussels. Black, medium tan head. Espresso, hints of condensed milk. More carbonation than one would expect. Taste interestingly combines the sweet mill coffee element with good bitterness.

Pudding (267) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2017
330ml. Pours opaque brown/black, with thin tan head. Little on the nose. Taste milk and chocolate/coffee. Overall: a pleasant porter based on a historic London recipe. Modern ’black ipa’s’ are not too dissimilar.

jamestulloch (4330) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle from Drinkmonger. Black body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and nuts. Flavour of coffee, blueberries and dark chocolate. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Really good - dark and roasted.

Keg Two-Thirds of a Pint at Brew By Numbers, Bermondsey, London in Jan 2016 - Dark Brown in colour. Average tan head. Very Malty; roasty malts, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel. Fruity; dark fruits, raisins. Good malt/fruit/hop balance. Bitter-sweet roast chocolate malty and fruity throughout. Increasingly bitter into dry finish. Tasty. Lovely stuff. Very Good Porter! tricksta_p (5162) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - NOV 23, 2016
Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, lots of dark chocolate, powdery cocoa, roasty coffee. Flavour is above moderate sweet and medium roasty bitter. Body is medium, carbonation is a bit much and got annoying especially immediately after pouring the beer. A bit of a shame, because the aroma and flavour are both excellent.

75cl bottle shared with 3 friends Medium beige head. Dark brown pour. Lots of chocolate in the aftertaste.

MelvinKalksma (1726) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 6, 2016

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, chocolate, bread, roasted malts and coffee.

Appearance:
Opaque black beer with slight yeast and with a large brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, roasted malts and coffee.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. The aroma could have been stronger. Amazing appearance with a huge head at the beginning, but a medium head that keeps coming back at the end. Great flavour from beginning to end, especially for the aroma.
