VsXsV (4522) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 29, 2017
Bottle at VilleValla Pub. Opaque black liquid with medium light tan head. Aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate, licorice, citrusy hops and toast. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of coffee, bitter chocolate, grain and light citrusy hops. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice! Quite coffee forward for a porter.

This was a really good porter. Very impressed. Beautifully black. Was quite difficult to pour without much head. It was frothing up out of the bottle. Taste was of really bitter coffee, but not necessarily of coffee having been added. It was far more ingrained in the taste of the drink.

Dark, toasted malts, rye bread, dry cacao, dark roast coffee. Very dark brown, tiny, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. More dark malts, toasted grain, wholemeal bread, soft, yet dark roast filter coffee, dry and bitter cacao, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Beautiful Porter, complex, rich but subtle. Bottle from Honest Brew, Crystal Palace.

Draft at Waterloo Tap. Tasty, roasty lactose porter with plenty of body. A decent quality ’strong’ porter.

Serapac (518) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 26, 2017
[email protected] Brussels. Black, medium tan head. Espresso, hints of condensed milk. More carbonation than one would expect. Taste interestingly combines the sweet mill coffee element with good bitterness.

Pudding (264) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2017
330ml. Pours opaque brown/black, with thin tan head. Little on the nose. Taste milk and chocolate/coffee. Overall: a pleasant porter based on a historic London recipe. Modern ’black ipa’s’ are not too dissimilar.

jamestulloch (4214) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle from Drinkmonger. Black body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and nuts. Flavour of coffee, blueberries and dark chocolate. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Really good - dark and roasted.
