COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gyle 100 Series. First released in December 2015. Bottle, 330ml.

The rich depths of Spanish Oloroso sherry are imbued into this expression of the Baltic Porter, absorbing the oxidated higher fruity notes alongside soft, creamy nuttiness.

Oloroso sherry’s decadent aroma leaps from the glass, whilst the palate of creamy almond and dense, chocolate-slathered fruit cake indulges the drinker in a way that only the flavours of exquisite fortified wine can.

Bottle at home, picked up from the brewery a few years back. Pours a black / dark brown coloured pour with a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is big bretty funk, raw wood, grapey must, liquorice and woody roast. Some booze soaked dark berries on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of bitter black malts, licorice, bretty funk, woody roast, boozy burnt raisin loaf. Tangy finish. Palate is tangy with frothy lively carbonation, mellow woody tannin. Alcohol warmth in the finish.

Bottled 15/10/2015 - so almost exactly 2 years old.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home from brewery drunk as a birthday treat (and what a treat!) An amazing beer. Like a wine crossed with a stout. I got the temperature exactly right and the mouthfeel was amazing. Great stout flavour with the taste of the sherry lurking beautifully in the background. An amazing beer to try.

Bottle. Huge beige head, dark brown in colour. Sweet, fruity, bit funky on the nose. In taste quite sweet, fruity, funky, boozy with light chocolate. Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly funky finish. Maybe the best from the series.
