330ml bottle (Gambrinus Degustation, Tartu)
Rubbery burnt aroma, a bit of ashtray, and some burnt plastic. Black, tight beige head. Better taste, the roast is rich and roasty, toast and burnt, but not ashy. Alas there’s some burnt cabbage aspect in the first sip, fortunately it doesn’t recur. Lightish palate, hides the alcohol. Burntness brings some acidity with it. Anna maps that only berries, I don’t. Finish dry and burnt, just on the edge of ashiness.

*Old rating. Best before 11.2011. Das Bier ist malzig-rund. Röstmalzig mit einem Hauch Frucht. Sehr schön malziges Bier. Rund, weich, leicht bitter.

Draught. Reddish black with a tan head. Aroma is dark berries. Flavour is blackberry with plenty of roast malt that grows on the palate. Not overly sweet or warming but you can feel the alco. One for sipping
