COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Achtung! Your proud brewers at brewboys have designed this beer to be a true hefeweizen, so it must be served cloudy. You’ll need to gently roll the bottle to disperse the healthy living yeast. The beer is yellow to amber in colour, and has a strong burst of banana caramel aroma, along with lots of clove-like spice. Using a traditional Bavarian wheat beer yeast in fermentation produces the hallmark characteristics of fruity esters and spicy phenolics. It also contributes a zesty level of acidity giving the beer a cleansing tart finish. The mouthfeel is very full bodied, with a flavour experience initially perceived as sweet, and then with a wheaten taste like fresh bakers flour. After all the Germans call this “liquid bread”.

Bottle. Aroma of mostly sweet banana, with a fair bit of clove and spice. The banana was very strong in the taste, the clove and spice backed off a bit but was still noticeable via the typical hefe tingle on the tongue. Finish was great, sweet banana which turned dry, with a decent hit of clove and some nice biscuit undertones. Far better than I expected from an Aussie hefeweizen, only improvements I would’ve made would be the mouthfeel (which was a bit watery), and perhaps a hint of vanilla. Apart from those minor quibbles, superb.

Hazy golden color. Very clovey nose with a touch of bananas. Well balanced. Slightly spicy mouth, a bit too low for carbonation, but good depth. Refreshing.

330ml bottle poured into a 500ml Weizen. Even poured slowly the head is still way out of the oversized glass. Gungy yellow with lots of bubbles. Smells wheaty and spicy. Taste has a little sweetness and lots of tartness and spice (cloves, coriander, vanilla). Not too much banana character, lots of bread and spice. Tangy finish. This is the most like the hefeweizen I’ve had on tap in Germany of any bottled version I’ve tried, including German brews.

Murky amber/orange pour with small rapidly dissipating head. Lots of banana in the aroma, as well as citrus, wheat and some spicy alcohol and cloves. Very nice flavour, despite the lack of complexity. The expected wheat and banana are the main constituents, with a bit more of that tangy citrus in the background. Medium body with light spritzy carbonation.

Bottle. Cloudy golden with a massive white head. Loads of citrus, banana and spice and wheat backbone. Good bitterness. Spicy wheat finish. A well brewed hefe and very refreshing. The best Aussie made hefeweizen I’ve tried so far.

A real crowd pleaser style with plenty of overt and upfront candy fruits, bubblegum and sweet banana. Touches of licorice and bitter candy fruits in the back palate. Nice spice and minerals as well. A bit over the top but good fun.

Pours hazy golden orange body with a nice white head. Perhaps a bit dark for style? Nose has tte usual banana and clove presence. Palate translates well, however has some confectionary sweetness, seems to be a common theme for brewboys beers? Not unpleasant but a little out of place. Finishes with some zesty citrus, banana and cove spice. Quite pleasant drink, but nothing overly inspiring.

Bottle - Slightly hazy golden with a fizzy head that quickly dissapears. Lots of fizz in the glass. Nice aroma, lots of banana and yeast. Smooth flavour wheat with banana and spices, but not very strong. slightly dry finish. You could have a few of these!
