Deepest of brown, near-opaque, tan head is thick & persistent.
Not a great deal on the nose - roasty malts, charred wood, dark chocolate, roasted nuts.
Thick body, touch of acidity could be overlooked but a rich beer overall.
Body reminiscent of an Oude Bruin - burnt caramels, dark chocolate, charred oak, vinous red fruits, funky balsamic & yoghurt undertones. Mild acidity & bitterness on finish.
Interesting beer - nice flavours, not as sour/acidic as expected. mcberko (18060) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 7, 2016
On tap at the Local Taphouse Sydney, pours a red-tinged dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of perfumey floral notes and roasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with perfumey dark fruits and biscuity malt. Not especially complex, with a light palate. Decent. Ngejo (979) - Jakarta, INDONESIA - APR 28, 2016
Tap. Hazy, brown, frothy, tan foam, lightly sour, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, & long finish. StevieT (2015) - AUSTRALIA - APR 24, 2016
From a bottle. It’s a well made beer but I’m just not that into the balsamic vinegar flavour. Gramoit (491) - Surrey, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2014
Vinegar on the nose mostly however hints came through in the taste. Interesting, a pretty good porter actaully

Bottle. This beer tastes nice, it’s just a shame it smells like vinegar... The vinegar comes through a little bit in the flavour but it’s integrated nicely. Niksko (624) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 30, 2014
Pours a very dark brown with a fine tan head. Nose is slightly sour, vinegary, slightly burnt sugar. It actually smells quite like still fermenting grape must. Flavor is less sour than I was expecting. There’s a bit of tartness, some chocolate, a fair bit of coffee, definite vinegar flavor. Medium body. Interesting, pretty complex, lovely. Bottle from Slowbeer. Darkest brown, thin tan head, sour cherries, roast malt, burnt caramel, coffee, medium bitterness, medium body, silky texture, balsamic tartness. Nice. Maris (1531) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - NOV 1, 2013
From a 500ml bottle on 14/10/2013. Pours a very dark amber with a small head. Has an interesting aroma combining roasty, chocolate and vinegar. This one has lots of flavour with sweet caramel, dark fruits (prunes, plums), dark chocolate, fudge and cola, balanced by a slightly tart vinegar tinged bitterness. The texture is a touch creamy and the carbonation medium. An interesting and quite impressive beer which is under-rated on here imo. mkel07 (6106) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 1, 2013
500ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. This was a good beer with a well balanced sour tartness that was over the edge. Dark colour with a slight head.
