Tap. Brown, frothy, tan foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, lively, & bitter finish. Dredd (953) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - OCT 20, 2016
Aroma of chocolate and cascade hops. Very dark brown pour with thin tan head. Big hop dominance from the first sip which carries through to the end, every now and again a hint of espresso and chocolate. Slight drying finish at the end. M_Sack (750) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - FEB 12, 2016
Bottle. Black with tinge of brown, frothy cappuccino coloured head that sticks to the glass. Grassy hop aromas dominate with a touch of espresso. Flavours of grass, pine and earth hops dominate along with a touch of espresso and chocolate. I'd like a bit more malt.

Bottle (500ml). Dark brown with a ruby red hue and an ample creamy beige head that provides a soapy lace. Nasal impressions are pine resin, nutty roasty caramel malts and subtle dark fruits. Taste is bittersweet and malty with dark coffee bean undertones before the resinous hop bitterness takes over (but not overpowering). Palate is medium bodied and quite rich for the ABV with a just right carbonation. Enjoyed this one.

Brewcult tap takeover at the Durham. Totally hop dominated, no malt roast, caramel, toastiness etc. It has the colour but none of the flavour/aroma of an American brown. More like an IPA, but not a great one at that - the hops are grassy and very bitter, lacks the nice citrus/floral character of a good IPA. Pretty average.

Bottle from Plonk (May 2014). Dark brown, creamy tan head, dark chocolate milk, bitter coffee, burnt toast, piney/resiney hops, really dry, clean bitterness, medium-full body, high carbonation (only fault really), long dry bitter finish. Excellent. Muggus69 (2601) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - OCT 7, 2014
Draught - Cookie, Melbourne
Deep amber beer, off-white head holds.
Good nose - citrus, passionfruit, pine & woody spice, with a decent measure of roasted nut & toffee malts.
Decent carbonation, full bodied, bit of chewiness to the texture.
Delivers ample sweet dark malts on the body; nuts, coffee, touch of bitter chocolate, paired with good intensity of tangy citrus, woody hop. Moderately high bitterness.
Enjoyable. StevieT (2015) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 8, 2014
From a bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a lasting cream head, super smooth, chocolate and coffee run deep through the aroma and flavours. I love it! Brenhophead (695) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 26, 2014
500mL bottle into a spig stout glass. Pours a dark cola colour with a massive mocha head (over carbonated). Chocolate malt mixed with a slight grapefruit hoppiness on the nose. Mostly choc and resinous hops in the flavour, however, its hard to distinguish individual flavours through the abundant carbonation. KeefOz (1879) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - JUL 11, 2014
Poured as a glass full of sudsy foam that developed into a nearly opaque coppery brown colour. Retained as a big (4+ finger) head. Carbonation fine. Aroma of dark chocolate and hints of malt. Taste distinctly of roasted malts, some dark chocolate and a trace of coffee. Light to medium body. Dry with roasted coffee on the finish.
